Rocket flew to stay in front of the lizard's face, dodging bites when they were aimed at him (sometimes just barely) and peppering its nose, jaw, and eye sockets with cannon fire. And it was a real good thing Rocket's aim was as good as it was. Less-good aim would have meant spray getting past the thing's head to maybe hit Kitty on its neck or Peter swinging around. Instead, any misses went far enough wide to not give anybody any grief.
