Loki laughed. "Oh, yes. Didn't you know? I'm thoroughly helpless, incapable of looking after my own affairs, and a victim for whoever cares to have a go." Loki was aware of a few reasons for Thor's overprotectiveness, and equally aware that Thor intended no insult to his capability despite the presence of said insult. It kept him from getting angry or offended, and rendered the whole thing funny instead.
