Still blue, of course, and in his other hand the staff’s runes still glowed faintly. “Likely I should have learned this sort of thing as a child, from someone who knows how it works, but of course that didn’t happen. It was going better than it had been, and despite continuing discomfort in his current skin, the improvement made it worthwhile. “My goal is improvement. A month ago I couldn’t freeze anything. Two weeks ago, a single rooftop. Now?” He gestured to encompass the snowy landscape. “If fun happens, that’s fine and I don’t object to secondary achievements. It’s just that for me, the workout is the main point.”
