When the younger woman didn't take her hand, Regina smoothly retracted it and tucked it into the pocket of her riding jacket. Her weight shifted as she drew herself a little straighter--perhaps no slight had been intended, but Regina didn't give people a second chance to insult her.
She kept her tone pleasant and her body poised without being tensed and sternly reminded herself that the girl had had a shock and manners weren't first on her mind. It meant nothing and there was no cause for unkindness toward her.
"I'm sorry, Carol, there isn't." Just to be sure, though, she made a quick mental inventory of all of the aliased superheroes she was aware of at the Inn. None of them had revealed a codename 'Fury.' "And none of us know how or why we're here. Only that we can't leave."
A pause, a breath, her lips parted then pressed as she rethought what she'd been about to say. "It's a bit of a walk to the Inn. If you're not feeling ill, why don't we head that way and I'll explain what I can." She glanced at the tabby then back up at Carol. "If the cat's yours, it can come along."
