"I'd like to!" Jackson protested, still on the floor, and doing his best to block Snow's punches as they came. That didn't leave him much room for trying to do anything else, although he was coming dangerously close to losing what few principles he had, and attacking her in return. If he had been more sober, he likely would have already, but the alcohol toned down the pain and slowed his reaction time, leaving him no time to strike back that he was being punched again.
