"Your key, miss," he said, and pointed in a direction that Merrill had no idea where it was going.
The mage took a deep breath. "Well, thank you all the same." She turned and looked to her companion. "Are you up for a small adventure?" She fiddled with the little rectangle somewhat nervously.
