"I'm not trying to banish them permanently," Sam protested. "I'm trying to lay them to rest. And if I can't do that, well, sometimes people want a little privacy, that's all."

But he did pause and acknowledge with a nod, "I'll stop trying to lay them to rest if they don't want to go."
