Lillith waited until the sorceress was busy to come examine her new library. She had her eyes so firmly on the blonde woman's back that she missed the young man behind her. Since the sorceress knew already what she was and so many did, she had not changed her form but only cast a veil over herself, and her tail ended up rather unfortunately, under his foot.
