Liz had tried to find a book on Russian in the small library in the hotel and learn it on her own, but there wasn't any and the whole point was to surprise Piotr so she couldn't exactly ask him.

She walked into the library and first took a look at the books in case, maybe, there was a new book on the Russian language. There wasn't - she hadn't expected there to be - and so Liz found herself walking up to the woman behind the desk.
