Library Studies [EP] - Open
(ooc: Feel free to tag Liz, Scanlan, Mary, or Bo)
The library was popular at that very moment.
Liz had settled into one of the desks. She had a science book out with Kitty's latest assignment, but at the moment she was finished work that Illyana had given her for her Russian studies. It was maybe the hardest 'class' she had at the inn and she was even more determined to prove to Illyana that she could be a good student and that she wouldn't disappoint her. On top of that, Liz wasn't even sure how pleased Illyana was with her progress other than the fact Illyana hadn't decided to stop teaching her.
At another table, Mary Winchester sat with her family picture album opened. There was a page open to Dean as a three year old with G.I. Joes John insisted he buy. Another photo was of Dean catching a fish with John. A third had Dean touching Mary's pregnant belly all proud. Mary was writing down the stories she remembered of each photo beside the photos, worried she might forget them if she didn't. Funny how it hadn't been a worry back home.
Scanlan was sitting on a chair with a pad of paper in his hand. He was trying to write up a song. He had several started, but he couldn't quite commit to one entirely. He knew he would need a song for Zahra and Kash's baby's arrival, so that was on the list and it had been started, just a few lines. He also wanted to write a song about the Madonna Inn in general, again only a few lines had come out. Maybe he was just distracted lately.
Lastly, Bo only just arrived. She decided she'd try the whole 'read for leisure' thing and Illyana had said she could probably find her something she'd like. The sections were pretty easy to make out and she found a book titled Tusk Love which had a rather interesting cover and so Bo thought... why the hell not?
She sat down and started to read it. It flowed well and wasn't hard to read. At first it was just a simple love story, but as it went on, the descriptions became more... oh. It was that kind of book. And yet Bo couldn't pull her eyes away. She read, the descriptions caused Bo's skin to feel warmer and things start to stir inside her and - maybe she should read more often. Lips parted a little, Bo had to use a lot of her own will power not to be entirely inappropriate in the library at that moment as she shifted a little in her seat.

Tagging Bo
Of course Illyana judged the choices of reading material made by the residents. But at least she did so in silence unless provoked. To judge openly without invitation would create a hostile environment. A hostile environment (however gratifying) would diminish the perceived value of the library. That was entirely beside the point.
Though the point was, at the moment, difficult to recall. Sam's woman had come in and decided to do some reading. (It sounded fake, but okay.) Indeed, an insipid romance. But there was something... Unusual about it. About her. About... The way her lips shaped the odd word. The way the line of her body shifted in her seat, skin flushing.
Illyana may have been staring at her. A bit.
Re: Tagging Bo
Re: Tagging Bo
Still, the imperious blonde that had moved to glare at Bo from across the span of the reading table she occupied did not look amused, fists curling to either side at the wood of the table. Fingernails discretely digging into the meat of her palms.
Re: Tagging Bo
Bo was trying to imagine what a half-orc might actually look like naked when Illyana's voice jarred her away from the words on the page. Whether she meant to or not, when Bo looked up from the book, her eyes trailed up the length of Illyana's body, over every curve, lingering a little on her lips before they finally found Illyana's eyes. Normally a look like that would sober her up, but Bo found it a little harder to pull herself away from the desire as she sat there in the library. "What?" Bo was only vaguely aware that the other one had spoken, but not sure of the actual words.
Re: Tagging Bo
"That book is entirely mundane." The protective spells cast on it notwithstanding. Illyana knew the inventory, and all of the women working there knew to take a good hard look at what they were receiving before it went into circulation. All of them were magical adepts. They had not simply missed a powerfully cursed or enchanted item accidentally. "But you reek of-" Sex. "...Power. It's highly distracting."
Re: Tagging Bo
It took another moment for Bo to actually register what Illyana was suggesting and then she heard Dyson's voice in her head about food supply and Bo realized she felt... hungry. Dammit.
She licked her lips, and while it was not meant to be provocative, it definitely was. "Sorry. I... didn't realize the book was that detailed." She slowly closed the book. "Maybe I should, uh, read this in my room." or with Sam in the room or... something.
Bo wondered briefly if Illyana's lips were soft despite her often harsh words.
Stop it, brain
Re: Tagging Bo
"I don't care for women," she insisted bluntly.
...And yet. Her hand reached, small, slender fingers spreading to grasp the front of Bo's throat. Her touch was firm, but not constrictive. Not cruel. "So tell me what you're doing," she repeated herself, voice gone low and dangerous. She meant to stare Bo down, but her attention strayed as if magnetized to the wet trace making Bo's lips glisten.
Re: Tagging Bo
Bo wasn't sure how to respond. She didn't like just telling people what she was, but Illyana was clearly angry. In truth, though, she wasn't really doing anything so much as simply being. "I'm not doing anything... it's just me."
Somewhere deep down inside Bo, something sounding a lot like her mother, felt challenged, and she sent out a small wave of attraction through Illyana's touch.
Re: Tagging Bo
Physically - she knew how to endure, but she was as susceptible to her baser impulses as the next person. Her body was certainly flush with want, a fine tremor shivering up her spine. She throbbed with anticipation for how very close they were, how easy, how satisfying it would be... If not for her iron-forged will and conditioning, she would most likely be a fawning mess of dumb desire already.
"You are responsible for your influence on others. Today, you have been negligent. You will not be so negligent again. Not in the library. Or you will be banned to safeguard the others trying to make use of the space unmolested." Her hand tightened, but carefully. Only to demonstrate her determination to resist. "Tell me that you understand these terms."
Re: Tagging Bo
"You know you can make your point without threatening someone with physical harm, right?" But that was also Bo's way of agreeing and her tone probably said as much, with a hint of snark to it. Her hand did go up to Illyana's wrist. There was only so much more of this she'd take before she fought back.
Re: Tagging Bo
"Yes," Illyana said simply. Her hand did slide away from Bo's throat, however, after having decided she wouldn't choke her for the threat she perceived from Bo after all. "But I wanted to touch you," she admitted, studying the woman's features with intent.
Re: Tagging Bo
Bo rubbed her neck a little. "I am in to a lot of things. Super kinky things. But usually when we do breath play there's at least a safe word and some candles in the background."
She offered a small smile though. "I'm sorry."
Touch her, Take her
Bo's eyes wandered along Illyana's jaw line for a moment. She was really beautiful. Nice facial features.
Re: Tagging Bo
Then she leaned down, one hand grasping the chair Bo sat in as she pressed close to take a kiss from her. There was nothing chaste or apprehensive in it, so much as claiming what was already there. If they both wanted it - and it seemed to her that at least for a moment, they did - she could think of no real reason for restraint.
Re: Tagging Bo
Re: Tagging Bo
Which was why Illyana urgently slid and suckled from the kiss until she was nearly breathless, nails scratching lines into the back of the chair - and then forcibly pulled herself back upright, tip of her tongue tracing her used lips ad she looked back at Bo. "...I understand something of what Sam sees in you now," she explained, voice unusually low and soft.
For Liz
"Newton's third law."
Re: For Liz
Liz most definitely did not notice. When she was studying, she focused on it almost entirely. So when the other girl spoke, it made Liz jump in startle and cry out softly, but not dramatically. She swiveled her head around. "Oh! Um. Sorry. I wasn't paying attention." How to say 'equestrian' in Russian was... difficult. "Did you, um. Did you say something?"
Re: For Liz
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.."
Re: For Liz
She looked surprised, still, but not as startled. "Thanks." She wrote down the word, noting to look it up later to double-check, even so she could just say she did her due diligence.
"What action started the reaction?"
Re: Tagging Bo
Wow.
Sometimes you had partners who were nice to kiss, but that was about it. Sometimes you had partners who could even make you think of all the dirty thoughts at once - those were the ones Bo had a weakness for.
"Yeah, well, you're not so bad yourself." Bo wet her lips. "I could show you more of what Sam sees in me, if you want?" Her voice darker and more wanton, promising many things.
Re: Tagging Bo
Re: Tagging Bo
"Too bad." She sounded a little wistful and perhaps with open-ended promises. She fought the urge to just stand up and compel her - Bo was going to need to find Sam after this. She needed something to satisfy the itch now.
Bo stood up, too. "Alright... that's probably a good idea."
Re: For Liz
"Action, you needed a word. Reaction, I gave you the word."
Re: For Liz
Liz actually smiled at that. "I guess you're right. And I was having a hard time on that one, so, thank you." Thankfully Illyana didn't seem to discourage help, but then again, Liz hadn't exactly asked her about her stance either.
"I didn't know you know Russian." She paused. "River, right?"
Re: For Liz
"I am not fluent," but the largest number of people in the world on Earth that was had spoken English, Chinese and Russian. "Some is normal where I come from. Shǎoliàng"
Her hand gesture, the motion of her fingers made that last translate obviously as 'a small amount'.
Re: For Liz
Liz looked surprised at that. "Is that Chinese?" The fact that River could speak so many languages, even a little, was impressive. Even Liz's Spanish was shaky.
"Where are you from?" Maybe she went to a magnet school like Peter did.
Re: For Liz
"You wouldn't have heard of it."
Re: For Liz
Her eyes widened a little, as it usually did when space came to the forefront. Still, she nodded. "Have you... ever heard of Antar?"
Re: For Liz
She climbed off her chair and circled the table to climb into one across from the other girl and perched on it.
Re: For Liz
Liz was a little disappointed, but maybe it was for the best. Maybe the stuff she had to learn about Max's planet weren't going to be nice things.
"Hey, um. I'm planning on making this beach party thing, if you'd like to go." She had been meaning to track down the girl about it, actually. "Just, um. Just us. Like, no adults. I thought it might be nice for all of us to hang out together." 'us' being the teenagers.
Re: Tagging Bo
She would have insisted the same of anyone after making such a display in the library. But it was all the more important for an individual of Bo's obvious power.
"Is it only sexual influence? Your abilities." That was useful information. Would the results have been drastically different if Bo had chosen to read something expressly violent instead?
Re: Tagging Bo
Bo thought that was a good idea - she didn't really want to cause an impromptu orgy in a room. Maybe she'd just read more boring books to begin with.
"Yeah, that's it." It felt weird to so openly admit.
Re: Tagging Bo
Illyana collected herself and strode to the circulation desk as smoothly as a cat refusing to admit it had ever had its fur ruffled the wrong way in regards to anything, ever, as if spontaneous lesbian makeouts in the library weren't so very unusual. She calmly filed out the check-out ledger and altered the spellwork upon the book before returning it to Bo and offering it over expectantly.
Re: Tagging Bo
"Thanks." She offered a sheepish sort of smile - what did you say to someone you inadvertently made horny and kissed out of nowhere? "I'll, uh, be more careful from now on."
She gave a bit of a salute with the book, then headed for the doors.
Re: For Liz
Sorry Liz, she's never had many friends her own age.
Re: For Liz
She paused and blinked. "Um.... because?"
Liz knew that was a lame answer. "Because it'd be nice to hang out with people our age? Or... I'd like to, anyways. I used to do it a lot back home and I kind of miss it." Not kind of, she missed it a lot.
Re: For Liz
Re: For Liz
"Would you... like to have this experience?" Because Liz thought River seemed nice and Liz really wanted friends her own age - especially female friends her age.
Re: For Liz
"That would be... nice."
Re: For Liz
She smiled widely and genuinely. "Great!" Liz was happy that both of these things could be a thing. "I promise it'll be fun." She couldn't actually promise that, of course, but she'd try her hardest to make it happen.
Re: For Liz
"Great." It was close to genuine and normal and for a flicker there was a teenage girl there and not.. whatever she was, even if some of it was pretend.
