Alec stared at her. The muscles in his jaw worked overtime as he tried to rein in everything, but when she touched him he felt his chest tighten. There was just the faintest of quivers on his lip and then he lowered his head to rest his forehead on her shoulder and for the first time in a long time Alec silently wept.
