Vax shrugged at him. "Dunno. I haven't quite got there yet. Meant to be a surprise, maybe." He almost left it at that, but Peter seemed so eager for answers that he hated to be a big whopping disappointment.
"I think it's one of those things you can't put easily into words, though. If I were to tell you what something tastes like, or what a beautiful landscape looks like, it could never compare to having those actual experiences yourself. I imagine that death is something like that, where you can only really start to understand it by going through it. Even then - if we eat the same food or see that same landscape, it's not always the same for everybody."
