Kash dropped a kiss on Zahra's brow, murmured a quiet, "Rest well, baby," and then flicked off the lights to leave her in peace. She was so pregnant, it hurt to watch her walk, and an ankle and lower leg massage offered as much bliss as an orgasm (almost). Kash had served her with both to leave her relaxed enough to sleep while he served his clinic shift.
There was rarely call for healing in the Inn, but each of the doctors and healers took their turns in the clinic. Each had their own side projects as well, like Kash's herbs for salves and poultices and tisanes, and his learning modern medicine from books. Once he'd checked on his herbs, he spent most of his shift on the couch, leg crossed at the knee with an anatomy book resting on it, and a cup of coffee in his free hand.
Once his shift had ended, he made his way to the green behind the pool with a couple of beers for himself and Trinket, if his buddy wasn't busy. He Sent a quick message to Vex to let her know he was there, but he didn't mind if he didn't get a response. It wasn't more beer than he could drink by himself, and there was always more where it came from if he had more company than expected.
Later, come evening, he made his way over to the stables. In part, that was habit--he'd fed the beasts while Snow visited Europe, and it was also easier to check on them when they'd come in from the pastures for the day. He did a visual check first of all of the animals, didn't see anything that needed immediate attention, and climbed up to the loft to start tossing down hay. Snow didn't need his help, but it felt good to use his muscles for work.
He'd finished there by the time Z's responses to his Sendings started sounding like she wanted company again, and he suggested she might meet him for a swim before a late, light supper. He swam almost every night now, and this one would be no exception.
