Mildmay's hand hovered over the page, hesitant, until he pulled his eyes away from the image of his brother from another world, to look up at Corbie. Her eyes were shining with happy tears, and if she smiled any bigger it was like to break her face. Mildmay's looked stonier than usual in comparison, but the jade green of his eyes was bright, and the feeling in his gut was like riding one of those fancy lifts.
