Video Game Challenge (OTA)
It was a shame not a lot of people seemed to like renting the various video game consoles the makeshift library had to offer the Madonna Inn. Quill was a frequent visitor to the library, but rather took out a book. Gamora would be annoyed with him, but the video games held more interest to him. A lot of the games were new to him as they had come out after he left Earth. Quill was delighted to explore them.
Multplayer games were much more fun with people. He dragged a TV into the lobby and set up a Super Nintendo. He sat on one of the ostentatious couches and was currently playing Super Mario Kart while he waited for some challengers. On the coffee table there was also a cartridge for Donkey Kong Country and Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Re: Quill and Rocket
It didn't always work, though. The AI racers didn't learn, but Quill did. They'd probably sort out pretty close to even, sooner or later. Which was honestly for the best. Rocket liked winning, but it was more fun when it wasn't always so easy. "Hey, just so's ya know, Quill? I'm happy you're here."
He'd been doing his own thing a lot and letting Quill do his, but he'd spent years in Gotham with all new people. Just having Quill exist made this place a lot better.
Re: Quill and Rocket
He grinned as he tried to over-take Rocket with a turtle shell power-up. Rocket could hide a lot of his emotions some times so when he said how he felt, it was really important. Quill knew if he said anything back, it might be met with some sarcastic 'enough of the sappy times' comment. It didn't stop Quill.
"Me too, buddy." He said. "Me too."
Quill realized he was losing. This, coupled with a sudden streak of mischief, had Quill suddenly lunging at Rocket to tackle hug him.
"C'mere you big softy." He said.
Re: Quill and Rocket
He couldn't help thrashing, but he didn't bite or claw. It was Quill after all, and even if he'd fight being pinned or whatever, he wasn't actually going to bite one of the few real friends he had. Not that he was above threatening. "I GOT TEETH QUILL. FUCKIN' SHARP TEETH!"
Re: Quill and Rocket
"And you have soft, huggable fur and a big, big heart" Quill said.
He gave him one gently squeeze and then let his friend go. He was grinning ear-to-ear.
"Love you too, buddy." He said, picking up his controller again.

Re: Quill and Rocket
Quill just smiled. He smiled wide and happy and self-content at that very moment when Rocket sat closer. Rocket was family.
[[Fade with them playing for a while?]]
