[GP/EP] Check-in Day
Liz was starting to get better at the whole check-in day stuff. She knew she hadn't seen 'everything' yet, but she was learning from watching Kitty and Caroline and the others how to approach distressed, confused, and even angry people. It wasn't always perfect, but she was getting better.
With the help from the bakery, there were muffins on trays in the lobby - Mary had insisted. She insisted on coming in every once in a while to restock the trays too.
Liz had helped bring another tray to the front desk and then moved to sit at one of the couches that had a view of the front doors. She had a complicated science essay for Kitty due in a week and Liz was having trouble finding the right wording to express her thoughts.
Every once in a while, Liz would look up to see if there was someone knew approaching. There could be no one today or there could be a lot. Briefly, she wondered if someone else from home would show up. A part of her was curious who that would be, but she found a larger part of herself was hoping no one else would.

Re: Liz/Steve
She blushed a little, looking sheepish, but nodding. "Um, yeah." Somehow it felt strangely intimidating to correct him that Peter was more than a friend, but she didn't know why.
"I'm Liz. It's nice to meet you. Peter, um. He's said a lot of nice things about you."
Re: Liz/Steve
"Has he, now? That's... that's mighty kind of him. I wish I could say the same, only I'm just getting to know him here."
Re: Liz/Steve
"I know" she nodded, then paused when she realized how that sounded. "I mean, it's sort of a the same with everyone from your world. Thor didn't know him either." She didn't know who else Steve didn't know so she didn't want to list people who might make him more confused.
"I think he's really happy to have all of you here though."
Re: Liz/Steve
"Well, I'm certainly glad to get to know him, too." It was more than just a little glimpse into his future. Peter was a good kid, and Steve liked him.
Re: Liz/Steve
She smiled at that. Steve was definitely nice - she could see why Peter liked him.
"Have you settled in okay? I know this place can be a lot to take it." Even with the sort of world they came from.
Re: Liz/Steve
"So far so good. How long have you been here?"
Re: Liz/Steve
"It's been almost a year, actually. I came here December first." It seemed so long and yet, so short. So much had happened in that time, too. She wondered if that was always the case when you were stuck in some small, confined space. "It's not so bad, being here. I mean, you'll probably go back soon -" Liz didn't want to aid the man in being more upset if he didn't like to be here "- but while you are, it should be nice?"
Liz realized that probably sounded really lame and smiled sheepishly.
"Mr. Stark is working on a way to get out, though, so I'm sure it'll happen soon."
Re: Liz/Steve
"Oh, if anyone can figure out a way to get us back home, it's Tony."
Re: Liz/Steve
She ducked her a head a little, suddenly feeling guilty. "Sorry... It, um. It's not always the same with everyone though. Maybe you'll get sent back soon?" Did he want that? Liz knew a lot of people wanted to go home. Liz just wanted to go to wherever Peter was.
"He's really determined." She nodded, trying not to dwell on her last thought. "And Kitty's been really excited on working on some new project too." She paused. "Kitty's my friend and a teacher of mine here. She's really good at science."
Re: Liz/Steve
"That he is." Steve gave a little smile and soft chuckle. "I don't think I've met Kitty yet. But I'd like to at some point."
Re: Liz/Steve
"She's often at the bar, if that helps. And she's sometimes outside with me building this obstacle course. It's almost done, actually." Liz was pretty proud of it and she thought it might help the people at the inn be less bored, at least for a while.
Re: Liz/Steve
Re: Liz/Steve
"I will." She grinned. "I promise."
Liz definitely liked Steve. He seemed to have a good aura around him. He was easy to be around. "I should let you get settled in. But, um. If you ever need anything, I can probably help."
Re: Liz/Steve
Then he had to go... sort everything out. Figure out what he was up to. This was gonna take some adjusting.
{fin?}

(ooc: Sounds good to me!)
