[GP/EP] Check-in Day
Liz was starting to get better at the whole check-in day stuff. She knew she hadn't seen 'everything' yet, but she was learning from watching Kitty and Caroline and the others how to approach distressed, confused, and even angry people. It wasn't always perfect, but she was getting better.
With the help from the bakery, there were muffins on trays in the lobby - Mary had insisted. She insisted on coming in every once in a while to restock the trays too.
Liz had helped bring another tray to the front desk and then moved to sit at one of the couches that had a view of the front doors. She had a complicated science essay for Kitty due in a week and Liz was having trouble finding the right wording to express her thoughts.
Every once in a while, Liz would look up to see if there was someone knew approaching. There could be no one today or there could be a lot. Briefly, she wondered if someone else from home would show up. A part of her was curious who that would be, but she found a larger part of herself was hoping no one else would.

He felt awkward. Should he offer his hand to her? Should he not? "I... Er. He knows me from home, I don't know him. Different times, I think?" He frowned, remembering what Peter said about a tape, but still having not seen it yet. "So... Hi?"

She nodded. "I'm not from your world at all, so it's weird for me too." Just in a different way. "Until you all started to show up, you were just stories he'd tell. It's nice to meet everyone now, though. Better than just stories." They had more to them than just 'the other side of a fight' and that was nice.
"Are you settling in okay here?"

Bucky glanced around, before looking back at her. "I... Kind of? Yes? I... I haven't gotten out much." Of his room, he meant. He'd been too afraid to run into Stark.

There was something about how hesitant he was that made Liz want to help reassure him somehow. She paused, thinking, then smiled a little. "Would you like to see my favourite spot here? It's not at the inn, exactly, but by the forest - if you're up for a walk." Maybe getting out of the inn itself would help the man.

She nodded in return. "Yeah. It's not far, I promise. And it's pretty. Quiet, too, if you ever want a place to go that's kind of secluded without being completely far away."
Liz gestured for him to follow her towards the doors that led outside. "There's a beach here too, you know. Just a a bit away. It's almost fall now, but it's still pretty to see."

His head nodded as he moved behind her. "Beach. Probably too cold for that now, hmm?" He shrugged his shoulders as he followed her. He wasn't really a good judge of hot and cold.

"I guess it depends on how you like your water." She smiled back. "It's really pretty even if you don't go into the water, though. And usually quiet."
She led them out of the hotel and into the fresh air outside. "There's a mountain too, if you like hiking."

Pretty, though. Pretty was nice. Quiet was good. He was used to being alone with quiet times. "You... You come out here with Peter, yes?"
no subject
She blushed at the mention of Peter and nodded. "Sometimes." Sometimes they did things they probably shouldn't be doing in public places. "Sometimes I come out here by myself to write in my journal. I write almost everything down."
She knew some people found that lame, but it helped to focus her a lot.
