Has anyone misplaced the ability to short electrical outlets, break plumbing and move everyday objects with an accompanying... light show?

And if so, might you be willing to tell me how to stop it before I destroy my room?

I am deadly serious and so is the broken shower head and a fried lamp.

I can't promise not to do.. whatever it is I'm doing. It does seem to manifest in conjunction with frustration though, so you're probably safe.

Perhaps if I had any inkling of how to make my new ability work it would also be entertaining. But so far, it just destroyed a lamp.

Well we could always experiment. That's how I found out I could jump three stories.

Not a bad idea. Though possibly some distance from the Inn as I'd hate to cause a blackout of a larger scale than my own room.

Good point. So does your light show work when there's no electricity around? If not, we'll have to stay kind of close at least the parking lot with the street lights.

I haven't tried, but it doesn't seem linked to the electricity. The lamp just happened to be the unfortunate casualty.

Then I say we head out to the desert and see what your powers can do. Have some fun with them. It's not every day you wake up with powers to do things.

Wait, I bet that's what happened to me. I feel different but I can't put on a light show or break plumbing. I am stronger though!

I wouldn't have said you could misplace an ability but that seems to be the only logical assumption.

I can lift my bed. Okay not like over my head like my friend AARRGGHH can, but I can lift it. I'm only 5' 2" and I can lift most of it off the ground with one hand.

I kind of think I also have mechanical parts to me. It just feels like it when I walk. It's really cool though. Wait! Do you think I woke up a superhero with special powers? Or maybe I eat donuts and get really strong. I had a chocolate one this morning. Does the inn have special donuts?!

It's entirely possible that the Inn has special donuts. But far more likely that you woke up with special powers. It seems to have happened to a number of people.

Bit of a light colored glow, then sparks. Though the second might have been the lamp shorting out.

What were you doing when everything went wonky?

I wasn't really doing anything interesting, just moving a lamp I've moved 50 times because the Inn insists that I don't need a Reading lamp next to my preferred chair - but it's wrong.

I'm less worried about the state of my room than I am my sudden acquiring of powers.

Oh. Well, I don't think you need to worry about that either. I know it's nerve-wracking, but that's usually how it happens.

There's no 'usually' related to sudden magical abilities where i come from - but I suppose it is comforting to know that this wouldn't be strange elsewhere.

A sort of whitish, silvery, pinkish color.

Not maiming myself, or really anyone else including inanimate objects, is my main thing at the moment. So any guidance would be appreciated.
