Not Pink Enough (OTA)

She liked the pink of the hotel a lot. If she had to guess, she'd say that whoever built the place kept her aesthetics in mind. Still, there were some places were pink was lacking and on a hot day like today, the pool was one of those places. Clad in her bikini, she was lounging on a pink shell floaty with sunglasses on and an umbrella drink in her hand. She casually touched the water and the water instantly turned pink like she had dumped a bunch of pink food colouring into the water.

Aphrodite let out a relaxing sigh. "Much better!" Smiling, she sipped her drink.

The suggestion wasn't at all lost on Connor and he questioned himself over why he courted such an invitation in the first place.

"It would...be my pleasure." He straightened up further, looking between Aphrodite and the bar. "House's choice?"

If Connor could be called anything, it was earnest. He returned the mysterious woman's look with a nod, approaching the bar and welcoming himself inside. He took a quick inventory--not just liquor, but fruit. He looked back to the lounging guest--her golden skin was clearly warm in the late summer sun. Then, he recalled a brief encounter with a magazine that had fallen in the lobby with a cover decorated with cocktail recipes (which he'd sooner call on for for guidance than the memories of the Lieutenant's whiskey rags.)

Rolling up his sleeves, Connor combined precise quantities of simple syrup and a watermelon purée in the fridge, dousing the mixture with white rum and lime juice like an old hand. He clipped a sprig off the fresh mint plant at the edge of the counter and garnished the rim with lime. Then, he appraised it. Calories: 291 ... Sugar: 35g. ... Vitamin A: 885IU ...

"Be gentle with me," he said as he knelt at the poolside where Aphrodite lounged, presenting the blushing drink on a small tray.

Even if Connor recognized the body language of overt seduction, his temple flashed at the first instance of being on the other side of it. This was a far, far cry from the Eden Club and the hollow stares of androids built for sex just following their programming. More than that, this woman wielded some sort of power unseen, and he was far more adjusted to dealing with threats than propositions.

“Proper introductions, perhaps,” Connor replied, erring to take it at face value and respond to her leisurely demeanor in kind. For whatever reason, he felt a strong need not to disappoint this woman. “Connor. An android built by Cyberlife.”

"I've...heard of you." It wasn't a lie--a Loki, a Thor, and now an Aphrodite. The former two weren't threatening, hopefully the trend would follow. And if Loki taught him anything about dealing with deities, humor was a decent approach. His lips quirked up as he offered her a towel as the fluid made clear trails across her skin, as if amused to prove her point.

"Perhaps I don't know what fun is, then. I'm programmed to serve."

As her manicured hand approached, Connor stilled to let it. He could sense the pressure and the warmth of Aphrodite's touch, certainly enough to act out the reaction a human would have. When her fingers brushed his chin, his LED flashed--it wasn't pleasure, not quite, but there was something that demanded this woman be the center of his focus that was intensified. The interference with his software should have been a cause to pause and self-correct, but he didn't.

"You'd find me boring in that regard," he replied with a soft tone of apology, even if it was having some kind of effect.

That was a clear invitation as any, and maybe it was the rut he'd hit with the sheer monotony but he almost responded. With the distance of her touch, however, clarity returned--some, anyway. It also came in the form of Hank's voice screaming at him from somewhere in his auditory processing. No explanation for that one.

"I'll...think about it." He straightened his loose collar, gathering his composure.

"My apologies." Connor tilted his head ever so slightly, rising to stand. "But it wasn't a 'no.'"

At her words, Connor felt himself relax, surreal as it all was. Getting by without rousing conflict was the priority, but finding himself caught up in the whims of a resident was...

"I'm relieved you enjoyed the drink. That was my first time." He adjusted his sleeves, cleaning his fingers of the faint residue of citrus and sugar. "Please send for me via journal if you'd like another."
