[GP/EP] Check-In Day
Why Caroline had needed her to help with Check-In Day she hadn't bothered to say. Just, "you said you'd help," and when Regina protested she wasn't good with people, "aren't you a Queen or a Mayor or something?" complete with shooing gestures. While Regina found Caroline more exasperating the terrifying, she did have a point.
So Regina suited up--literally, gathered her files and folders, coffee mug, pens and pocketed the wooden carving of Henry/Roland Robin had made for her, then headed for the cafe. If, polished and politic and patently Busy, she didn't offer newcomers the brightest or warmest smile when they arrived, it was nevertheless confident and quite possibly reassuring.
Caroline did friendly. Regina...did knowledgeable and polite. Dot and Ignis had been asked to provide finger food on catering trays. The still-grieving Miss Pryde had been tasked with samovars of tea and coffee and ice chest of soda and beer. Caroline's welcome baskets sat on the table beside Regina's for easy access. And though she didn't when she was alone in the office, Regina spent the magic to fix her eyesight so she didn't put glasses between her and new arrivals.
Madame Mayor was in.

Re: Sora - Assigned Threads
As they worked their way round the winding path, giving Sora a better understanding of what buildings were where and the garish charm of the Inn's outdoors, they chanced to pass another man with ridiculously good posture, white hair surprising on someone so young, and a custom set of spectacles. He had his nose buried in a book on approach, but glanced over the pages at them when he noted there were people headed his way. "Don't even, Percy," Vax held up a hand as if to signal for safe passage, even as the fellow seemed to purse his lips to say something. "Check-in day." 'Looking for a young boy,' indeed. Percy thought better of it, and continued off in the opposite direction.
"That's Percival. He's alright. A bit too smart. You can meet him later," Vax promised. "Better not to get sidetracked first thing."

"Every once in a great while," he struggled a bit with weighing out how much hope he thought he ought give in his mild tone, "one of the rooms will... Change a bit, to let us visit some other world for a time. But once the door shuts, things are back to being small and closed-off like before. We all come back to the Inn."

He nodded at the three buildings that rose up ahead. "This is where the private rooms are. Most of us end up in the largest building, over there. There's also an artificial pool beyond, if you like to swim." He flashed an impish grin. "Or toss your friends in."

"Our building is back this way," he waved them on. "...I know this is all a lot to take in. But is there anything special you're wanting to know already?"

"Those key cards from the front desk can be a bit of a trick," he thought to mention. For people from a world like his, at any rate. "Have you ever used such a thing?"

Vax'ildan just shook his head at him incredulously, a bit of an amused smile at his lips. "You'd better get on with it, then," he excused Sora, turning to leave in kind. "But should you need anything... Bother a grown-up."
