Why Caroline had needed her to help with Check-In Day she hadn't bothered to say. Just, "you said you'd help," and when Regina protested she wasn't good with people, "aren't you a Queen or a Mayor or something?" complete with shooing gestures. While Regina found Caroline more exasperating the terrifying, she did have a point.

So Regina suited up--literally, gathered her files and folders, coffee mug, pens and pocketed the wooden carving of Henry/Roland Robin had made for her, then headed for the cafe. If, polished and politic and patently Busy, she didn't offer newcomers the brightest or warmest smile when they arrived, it was nevertheless confident and quite possibly reassuring.

Caroline did friendly. Regina...did knowledgeable and polite. Dot and Ignis had been asked to provide finger food on catering trays. The still-grieving Miss Pryde had been tasked with samovars of tea and coffee and ice chest of soda and beer. Caroline's welcome baskets sat on the table beside Regina's for easy access. And though she didn't when she was alone in the office, Regina spent the magic to fix her eyesight so she didn't put glasses between her and new arrivals.

Madame Mayor was in.

"A touch of exhibitionism?" He pulled her closer so they were pressed together knee to chest.

"Slightly obsessive about stolen privacy," she confessed, and ran her hands down his back to grip his particularly fine ass. She'd been either entirely in the public eye, or shut away in exile and ignored. Having the freedom to choose either or could still be intoxicating.

"And now that you have me in this semi private pantry, what do you plan to do with me?" He asked bending to nuzzle her throat.

"I hadn't gotten that far," she replied in a velvet murmur as her fingers slid through the back of his hair. When he did lift his head, she gave him a heated look that verged on fond and sought his mouth for a kiss.

Fond was okay, he was rather fond of her at the moment. He smiled into the kiss and returned it with increasing fervor as he let his hands wander over her back.

The parts of Regina that had been tense and knotted all day began to relax, not completely, because she'd have to pull herself together when they left again, but enough to let her breathe, enjoy the heat of his mouth on hers and the strength of his body beneath her hands. She nipped lightly at his bottom lip then kissed along his jaw to his throat. "Do we need a daytime version of the knock code, wolf?"

"I was assuming," he said tipping his head back to allow her access, smiling. "That the arched brow was the daytime equivalent."

"Mmm," she made a soft sound against his skin and nip-nuzzled up to the hinge of his jaw. "I raise my eyebrow so often. I'd hate--" a teasing purr across the word, signifying she did not hate and might very much enjoy "--for you to develop a Pavlovian arousal response."

He snorted, but his hands skimmed her shoulders to her back and lower.

"I'm harder to train than that."

But not too much harder.

"I'm not looking for a pet." His hands on her ass sent a wave of pleasure through her that had her on her toes to press flush against him.

"Good thing, since I'm not particularly domesticated." He growled and captured her mouth with his, using her momentum as she came up on her toes to bring her even closer.

Gods, no. And she wouldn't want him to be. Not at the expense of kisses like this, that curled her toes and made her blood race. She blessed her foresight in wearing a short enough skirt that she could wind one leg around her hip.

She did seem to enjoy climbing him, a bit like a tree, the thought made him smile into the kiss. He shifted turning to press her back against the wall in the shadows of the little room, and slid his fingers up the silky length of leg curved over his hip.

The touch provoked a sigh, paradoxically soft and almost content by contrast to the heat coursing through her veins. "Such good hands," she murmured on a breath between kisses. It felt, he felt, good, both capital and lowercase.

"Why thank you," he smiled into another kiss and let calloused fingers stroke the silky skin of her thigh.

Regina's lashes fluttered over a playful roll of her eyes before she wound her other leg around his hips to draw him flush against her. Her hands skimmed over his arms. "You know, I think I might need your help later, too."

"I think I could be available later," deft fingers moved higher up her thigh beneath the bunched hem of her skirt and teased along the edge of the lace he found there.

It occurred to her how strange it was that she'd allowed her desire for him to lead them here. She would never have interrupted a work day for any other lover. If Robin had dragged her from (or over) her desk she wouldn't have protested, but she wouldn't have sought it out, either. So why with Dyson?

Maybe because that's all it was?

Whatever the reason, she slid her fingers through the short length of his hair and sought his mouth again, nothing sweet, soft or chaste about the way her tongue lashed through his mouth. She wanted him to want her as inconveniently as she wanted him.

He certainly wanted her, but the only thing inconvenient about it was going to be making his way through the common areas without shocking people. He met the savagery of her kiss with his own, how attached was she to this particular piece of lace he wondered, fingers tracing it again and curling into the soft flesh of her thigh.

At the onslaught of heat in his kiss, her body tightened with a low, bittersweet throb. His fingers grazed her inner thigh, questing, and her own fingers tightened around the back of his neck. "Two can play," she groaned against his mouth and then shifted, leaning back into the wall enough that she could (for the moment at least) get her hand between her thighs to the button of his jeans.

"Play much more and I'll scare the populous when I leave the pantry." He joked, not stopping her but taking the opportunity her movement gave to slide those questing fingers beneath the lace.

His fingers found her already slick enough to be messy (were it not for magic that would let her freshen her clothes), and the slightest caress forced the breath from her lungs, noisily. She managed to get her own hand far enough into his jeans to run the tips of her fingers over his cock. "Play much more and you won't have to," she suggested.

"Not in the pantry with witnesses barely a door away." He couldn't help but stroke her again though, wet and ready, his own hips twisting into her caress.

"What did you say about that knock code later?"

A silencing spell would solve the problem of people hearing, but he was right. "Anticipation and delayed gratification are always fun," she murmured, husky. "I didn't say, but I'll knock as soon as I'm sure I'll be alone."

"Or you could just knock on my door." He had a room to himself after all. The occasional ghost not with standing. He stroked her again before reluctantly withdrawing.
