[GP] Check-In Day: What a nice surprise; bring your alibis
Every check-in day conjured memories of her first, and all of the others, which inevitably meant she spent the day with Lara on her mind, and Petey, Illyana, and Wyatt. She'd been blessed with dear friends and loves arriving, and yet she never stopped hoping she'd figure out the mess that was this pocket universe and get home.
It was starting to become complicated, though, almost a year later. It would hurt to lose the people she'd grown fond of here, almost as much as it would be good to get home. She didn't know what to do with that feeling, but it was what it was. All she could do was tend the bar with patience and understanding, and keep an eye on the readings her crude energy measuring devices out on the road sent to her.
For all the people that came in and out, it was a quiet day. So between drinks, she spent most of it bent over a notebook with a cup of coffee in her hand, trying to design better instruments to dismantle Yana's shackles. Maybe Percy could help her build them.

Re: Liz - OTA
Liz could not give up such an opportunity. Her eyes widened a little with quiet excitement. "Really? I mean, yes. yes, I would really like that." She felt a little silly for how interested she was about it.
Re: Liz - OTA
She held her hands out in front of her, top cupped over the bottom, and then slowly drew them apart with a beautifully vibrant rainbow spreading between them.
Re: Liz - OTA
Liz had seen a lot of weird things lately in her life. She even had her life saved by an alien, but she had never seen something quite like what Lilith had done. Her eyes widened even a little more and almost sparkled a little at the rainbow. "That's - That's amazing!" Her hand lifted a bit, then hesitated. She had the urge to try to touch it.
Re: Liz - OTA
"My dear friends Kashaw and Pike can create and shape such things as food, water, and stone, but I am an illusionist only. Good only for misdirection, I fear." Her smile said she did not mind being 'an illusionist only.' It had served her very well.
Re: Liz - OTA
Liz lowered her hand sheepishly, though as the woman spoke she found herself thinking of Tess again. "Actually I, um, I know someone who can do something like that. The girl you kind of look like. Tess. She... she can make people see things they way she wants them too." Max and the others had other abilities that could be seen as magic too. "Nothing as pretty as that though."
Re: Liz - OTA
Re: Liz - OTA
Her eyes followed the butterflies almost like when a small child eyes a magic trick for the first time. "I think I like the way this magic is used too. It's very pretty." Which to Liz mean that this woman was probably nice too.
Re: Liz - OTA
Re: Liz - OTA
"oh.. nothing as interesting." She flushed a bit sheepishly. "I still go to high school and I have a part time job as a server in my parent's diner." Neither, she thought, were overly interesting.
Re: Liz - OTA
"Come, why do not find somewhere to sit down and perhaps something to drink."
Re: Liz - OTA
"Oh. Um. Right." She felt bad for forgetting, but nodded to her question about the drink and then started walking a bit though hoped Lilith would take the lead as she wasn't quite familiar with the place yet. "So, um. High school is a place where people my age go to learn things. Actually we go to school when we're like, 4 or 5 and up until we're 18 and then if we want to we go to more school called university which has more, um, specialized classes." It was actually strange to say out loud, she realized, and she wondered if anyone else ever really thought about such a social construct.
"And a diner is a restaurant where you buy food. Hamburgers and fries and breakfast stuff... that sort of thing."
Re: Liz - OTA
"Food," Lillith replied as though struck by the idea. "Do you know I have not eaten since yesterday now? I wonder if you are also hungry?"
Re: Liz - OTA
"Actually, I am sort of. When I came here it was really late at night." Liz was also a little tired, but the adrenaline from being pulled away from your own reality hit her hard. "There's a restaurant here, right? Someone mentioned there were places to get food here."
