[For Snow] People fail
When Snow didn't come by to check on Socks, Kash knew meeting Z had shaken her more than he'd thought. He gave her time, because of Sansa, but it wasn't getting better. After he managed to miss her (mostly on purpose) at the stables, it occurred to Kash that he was avoiding her. Because of Curnen, and how bad that went.
Back in the room he shared with Z, Kash sat down at the desk. There was stationery and a pen even though there was nowhere to send mail. He picked up the pen as much because he didn't know what else to do as anything, and before he knew it, he was trying to make words happen. Snow liked to read, so maybe it would go better than him trying to talk.
It's my fault. Not yours or hers. I should've told her about you, and then I should've told you she was here and I wanted you to meet her. If I'd given you time, maybe it would've been easier.
The balled-up paper found its way to the waste basket and he started again.
I would've done anything to have her back. Everyone knew that. I thought everyone did. Curnen...
That got aborted fast and the sheet of paper joined the first in the trash.
Sorry I sprang Z on you without warning. She fell through the ceiling, but I got the concussion. I'm an idiot. Z would be the first one to tell you that. She'd also be the first one to tell you that I'm shit when it comes to people. She was pretty surprised that I had friends at all.
Z has lots of friends. I don't. You don't have to love her because I do. You don't even have to like her. I wanted you to meet her for me. Not her. So all you had to do to get it right was show up.
Kash knew there should be more words, a signature, some kind of invitation but those were the words he had. And before he could change his mind about it, he shoved it in an envelope with her name on it, and went to shove it under her door where he couldn't take it back without involving fire or Vax.
