It was Max's fault, really. She had shown him what freedom looked like back home in Seattle and he had gotten used to not having to follow orders or be stuck within the confines of a complex like this. Had she just left well enough alone, he might have at least been okay with the routine here.

Deciding he needed a snack, he walked over to the vending machine filled with chocolate bars and chips and inserted a coin. Nothing happened. He pressed the retrieve button and still, nothing. He gently shook the machine and still nothing. Frustrated, Alec turned to drive his elbow into the glass to break it. Extreme? Maybe. But he was sure it would be satisfying too.

Peter frowns when Alec says fluid. Every time he said it, he somehow made it sound lewd. Or maybe it just started sounding lewd after Alec said the whole thing about how he'd use it.

"Next week, noon, in the parking lot." It wasn't like anyone else was using the parking lot, anyway. No cars.

"Alright. Deal." He downed the rest of his drink and stood up. "I'll see you then kid." He winked and started to head toward the lobby.

Peter's frown deepens when Alec calls him a kid -- and that makes him all the more determined to show him up next week.

Peter pushes himself off the barstool, and heads into the lobby -- and then, in the opposite direction. He's got a lot of thinking to do.
