[EP] A little fuss - OTA
Some time ago, Corbie had found a calendar and counted back from the spring equinox. And then ahead from the winter solstice. And settled on a date. And then she’d done it again the next day. And again the next, until she was finally satisfied that she’d correctly translated between calendar systems and definitely had the correct date. Caroline had caught her at it and pried it out of her that Corbie had been trying to figure out when her birthday was and, wheels turning behind her eyes, Caroline had left it there. And Corbie had forgotten all about it.
Which was how she could be surprised now as she was shunted into the cafe that Caroline had bullied cake out of Pike and had possibly bullied other people around the inn to come eat it.
Okay, that wasn’t fair. It was a kind gesture, since Corbie hadn’t told anybody. Hadn’t intended on telling anybody. Growing up, her birthday was only so big a deal. She and Gran hadn’t had very much money for presents or treats, though Gran had tried when Corbie was small; they were both always more concerned with having enough to get by. Birthdays were for rich kids. Or at least bourgeois kids. And then there was just the part where… well, what was the point? They were here. It made doing anything special for anybody kind of hard. If anybody cared enough.
… Okay, she was being entirely unfair, because here were two people who had cared enough and had tried for her and it was incredibly sweet.
Unexpected tears in her eyes, Corbie laughed and flitted to the café door, calling out to anybody in earshot. “Come help me eat cake!”

Alec pouted. "Well, that does it, I guess I'm just going to have to kick his ass."

He opened his mouth, paused, then closed it and took a second where it looked like he might actually put his hands on his hips and hmph, but he didn't. Instead, Alec reached for the piece of cake with his fingers. "What's the cake for, anyways?"

The kiss definitely made the pout disappear, but he paused and blinked with a fork full of cake halfway to his mouth. "....I am so glad you said nineteen and not eighteen." Because the thoughts he had of her sometimes....
He cleared his throat and offered her a genuine smile. "Happy birthday!"

"Oh?" Corbie made her large eyes wider, tipping her head to one side. "Why would that be?"
no subject
Alec almost choked on the big piece of cake in his mouth. He chewed a little before answering around what was a smaller and more manageable amount of cake in his mouth. "No reason." Which probably wasn't convincing at all.
He swallowed the cake. "You know... just, because nineteen is a great year."
Sure, yep.

He was too easy. Corbie smiled in a way that was mostly sweet and even affectionate, but there was the sharpness of teasing at the edge. "You're a terrible liar."
no subject
"I'll have you know I'm a great liar if I want to be." He lifted his chin up a little like a kid. In truth, he was actually really good - he was trained to be - and maybe that was why he didn't like doing it a lot.

Alec paused and surveyed her again. For a moment his light hearted expression melted into something more heated as it was probably clear he was recollecting some of the exact things he wanted to do to her. For a moment he looked like a man who wanted to pin a woman to the wall and explore every inch of her body.
He cleared his throat, the intensity fading a bit. He seemed to be debating what to say and finally went with, "let's just say, among other things, I still really want to show off how long I can hold breath."
Alec smirked and dug into the cake some more

Now what exactly had inspired that look? Corbie bit her lip, her own eyes darkening. Alec could be a complete idiiot, but he wasn't a terrible idiot exactly. And a girl could be curious. A girl could always be curious.
She was getting very used to this idea that today could and should be a day of many orgasms.
"Mm..." she murmured. "Maybe."

He paused in mid cake-in-mouth again. "Maybe..." Voice muffled with icing. "Like.. maybe you'll let me show you?" Icing now clung to the top of his lip as he swallowed a little more cake.

Deciding something inside herself, she smiled and said, "I've been wanting to be nailed to a wall for a while now."

Alec stared at her the entire time and it was obvious he wasn't breathing the entire time until she swallowed the icing. And then she laid that news on him and Alec wasn't sure how to react because he wanted to play cool but also pump his fist in the air. Either way, there was already blood flowing southward.
"I'm also really good at that too." He had great stamina and strength, after all.

This time it was Alec's eyes that darkened a bit, though he paused as he slowly lowered the plate to the table. "Even here?" Because he would right here in the cafe if she wanted.

Alec picked up on that promise immediately and when she pulled away his face followed her for a slight moment before he got ahold of himself. "My room is close by." In building one.

To tell the truth, Corbie still wasn't sure if she really liked Alec or not. He wasn't bad or anything, but he had streaks of immaturity--possibly even cruelty--in him that she found unnerving. But at the same time there was an innocence to him. Childlike in his cruelty, yes, but also in his guilt. In the way he actually looked to her for what to do when he upset her.
She didn't dislike him. But he wasn't lover material.
A special occasion fuck for fun, though? Oh yeah.
