Glitter-bombs, Web Fluid, and No Shampoo (Closed to Peter)

"Son-of-a-" Alec's voice came from the bathroom. It did not sound pleased.

About ten minutes later the water turned off and Alec emerged in a towel looking annoyed. He shot Peter a glance. "If you used the last of my shampoo, tell me now, otherwise I'm going to start plotting that raccoon's demise." Because his shampoo and conditioner had been empty every day this week and they were running low in the boutique. While Peter's more generic brand was alright, it wasn't the same. Alec liked the full body, full volume with Argan oil in it kind.

He padded into his room and after another moment or two there was a little bursting sound and then another "Son-of-a-bitch."

Alec emerged with a head filled with blue and pink glitter. It stuck on his shoulders and cascaded down his back and chest. He had thought he thoroughly checked his room. Alec had been wrong.

Alec would have paid to see what probably was a fantastically amusing moment of panic when it happened.

Then Alec had an idea.

He disappeared in his room and came back with the glitter bomb. It was useless as it was, but with some fixing...

"You ever explode your web?"

"No," Peter says firmly, shaking head. "I'm not helping you do that."

He pursed his lips together and nodded. "Alright, fine. I guess I could make an old fashion real one." He shrugged casually and began walking back to retrieve the left over bomb part.

"You're not going to do that," Peter says, lips pressed together. He knows Alec's just trying to goad him. He's not going to actually do it.

At least Peter thinks so.

"Maybe not the kind that blow up, but smoke bombs are pretty useful. Or stink bombs." He looked upwards thoughtfully, as if thinking out loud and planning. "Could probably combine the two."

Peter frowns. "I'm not helping you," Peter says insistently. "You're going to have to figure out how to do it yourself."

Peter takes his notebook in hand and grips it tightly.

He rolled his eyes. "You know I built bombs before, right?" And he remembered everything written down in the notebook, but he didn't point that out.

"Yeah, but you're not gonna do it," Peter insists, stubbornly. "That's actually dangerous, and you wouldn't kill someone for annoying you."

Or so Peter believes.

"I'd fill their room with sulphur though." Rotten eggs for days. "Friendly-fire's going to happen again at some point. Do you really want to be wearing, I don't know, toothpaste all over yourself? You want it on Liz?"

"I don't mind toothpaste on me, and I'm not letting Liz come over until this is all sorted. Which is why you should apologize."

It sucks not feeling comfortable enough with the safety of their room to have his girlfriend over.

"If you promise to apologize for whatever you did afterwards, I'll show you how I think you do it."

"Wait. So, are you saying you'd help build a web bomb if I apologize after the raccoon gets webbed for two hours?" Because... it was a tempting agreement.

"Yeah, but you have to apologize for everything," he says. "Not just the web bomb. And you have to swear to it."

There was clearly more consideration on Alec's face. He crossed his arms of his chest. "Stipulations of the apology would include what?"

[st_arkintern]

"I know you know how to apologize," Peter says. He knows that from experience. "I also know you know what you need to apologize for."

He rolled his eyes again. "Okay, mom" Not that Alec actually had any concept of what having a mom was like, but it felt like a mom thing.

"Fine, but I apologize in my own way and you don't get all sad and whiny about it."

"I need you to act it out," Peter says, placing his hands down on the top of his thighs.

He's concerned about what Alec means by his own way.

Alec shifted his weight. "Are you asking me to roleplay with you right now?" And then the question is it really worth this becomes prevalent.

"Yeah," Peter says, nodding. "I'll be Rocket."

The thing was, Alec was pretty sure Peter couldn't actually be Rocket. While Alec gave the raccoon a hard time, he actually understood the annoying furball. "Alright. You start then. Show me your best Rocket." He crossed his arms again. "Get me in the mood to apologize."

Peter clears his throat.

"Um," he says. Not a good start. He couldn't imagine Rocket saying um. "Why are you here?"

His attempt at Rocket's voice is not very good -- it sounds more like a bad Brooklyn accent than anything -- but Peter thinks he got the dialogue right.

Alec blankly stared at Peter. "...Wow." Peter's Thor impression was better, though Peter probably practiced that more.

He exhaled deeply. He could not believe he was doing this right now. And then suddenly, he knew exactly what he was going to say.

"Hey, sorry about implying you're not a real person." It sounded like a real apology and everything. "I was pissed off at your idiot friend. What I meant to say was your views aren't fucking helping. I could give a shit about you being a raccoon or a human or whatever. I don't even know how much human I have in me. People are people." Alec's expression suddenly became deadly serious with a fierceness that meant business "But you ever do anything to put Peter in danger and I - will - kill you."

Peter sits there, speecheless for a minute.

"Okay," he says, completely breaking character. "You had a good start, but you gotta scrap a lot of it."

Peter clears his throat again and attempts Alec's voice this time.

"I'm sorry about implying you're not a real person," he says. "I was mad at the time, but that doesn't make it right. I promise I'm going to do better in the future."

Peter completely botches it, then returns back to Peter-voice.

"Something like that."

He blinked. Really?

"Yeah, that's not going to happen." And that was a good indication that Peter didn't realize how Rocket worked either. They didn't need to be friends. It was about respect.

"Try it again, then," Peter insists, stubbornly.

[st_x5_494]

He pinched his nose. "Alright. Tell me why you think your new friend is upset and what's his world view. Tell me how he'd think about your really lame apology."
