[EP] Just chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool

Unlike others at the Inn, Clarice didn't get a ghostly visit and she was very much okay with that. She had enough ghosts in her head without visits from home telling her how much she screwed up or will screw up or whatever. Even though the weather had been mild, the sunsets coming later meant that spring was on its way. The nights were still freaking chilly but it was warm enough out now to enjoy the pool. At least a heated one and if it got too cold there was always teleporting to her room. Alcohol helped to keep you warm, too and since the pool had a bar, it was win/win.

Clarice did a few laps in the pool while she waited for her lunch to be delivered. As she came to the end of one lap, she saw Molly with a plate of food. "Perfect timing." Clarice said as she pushed herself out of the pool to eat the chicken and fries with her Manhattan. "Thanks!"

There was a quirk to her lips when she pulled the cherry out of the drink and popped it in her mouth to make a knot with the stem. It was a fun reminder of Thor and she made a mental note to see what he was up to.

Dean rarely went swimming in the pool, but he did enjoy being by the pool and watching the lovely ladies swimming. When he stepped outside, he nodded a greeting to Molly before he continued on to Clarice. "Now that's what I call a meal." He didn't ask if he could join her, Dean just took a seat at her table.

Clarice arched a brow, "I'm not gonna share." There was a twinkle of amusement in her green eyes. "Get your own."

"Oh, now that sounds like a challenge." Dean smirked and playfully pretended to reach for her fries. And while he could have easily taken them from someone else, he didn't even go there with someone with powers.

Clarice smirked as she created a portal between Dean's hand and her fries. If he reached, all he would get would be the table beside himself.

"I cheat."

Dean snatched his hand back, not sure what would have happened if he had reached through.

"Damn, you do cheat. Fine. I'll order my own." Which he would have done anyway. They both knew that.

Clarice laughed at his reaction. "It is safe. You can even step through it if I made it big enough." But she'd gotten the point across.

"How about teleporting me to the cafe?" Dean teased, sort of. "Or even better, the bakery."

"Seriously?" Clarice felt surprise at that, especially after his reaction to the portal she'd just made.

"Okay. Which one do you want to hop in and out of? I can't hold it long so I'll open it back up about five minutes after you use it."

Dean figured he tried anything at least once and it would be really useful if it worked. "Bakery." That way if his insides liquefied or some shit his mom would be there.

Clarice put down her food, stood up and spread her hands. Pink light sparkled around her hands as the portal began to appear. It took a moment for her to widen it enough for Dean to step through.

"After you."

Dean told himself it wasn't that different than Cas taking him places. "What the hell," he muttered to himself and stepped through.

It was just like stepping through a door. He hadn't felt a thing. "That was awesome." She had 'put' him just outside the bakery so he stepped inside and got a couple of pieces of pie and a chocolate brownie. Who didn't like chocolate?

She'd heard his awesome comment just as the portal closed and laughed. It was such an odd sensation to have people that weren't mutants not just accept her but not mind her looks or abilities.

It took her about six minutes to get that small amount of strength back that it took out of her. Clarice opened the portal to just outside the bakery for Dean to step back through.

Dean wasn't sure where the portal would be but he'd guessed the same spot so he was standing near by. There wasn't a sensation or gut feeling, the portal just appeared. It was a bit unnerving, but he stepped through anyway.

"Brought you back a brownie." Dean set it on the table next to where Clarice would have been if the portal hadn't eclipsed her.

"You know," Thor says, approaching from behind just as Clarice neatly pops the cherry into her mouth. "I can do that too."

It only took months of practicing. Perhaps Thor wasn't as good with his mouth as he thought he was.

"Yeah?" She said after taking the knot out of her mouth and placing it on the napkin. "You know you're going to have to prove it. Nothing personal, but I'm not taking your word for it." Clarice smiled as she said it.

Thor nods his head towards the pool bar; he had sadly not brought any cherries with him. Then again, he didn't expect to find anyone swimming in the pool when he headed for the bar, either. "Would you care for a live demonstration?"

"Like I would turn that down." Clarice said easily and pushed up from her seat to follow him toward the bar. "I'll even buy your drink with a cherry in it. I'm generous like that." Since it was free, everyone was generous.

"Are you making it or am I?" he asks, as he pushes open the door to the pool bar. Compared to the indoor bar, this one was hardly used this season. In a few months, this place would be bustling with activity, but now its counter was coated with a thin, almost imperceptible layer of dust.

"I'll be happy to be your bartender for this." Clarice stated as she slipped behind the bar. "I'll even add the pretty umbrella." She reached behind her and grabbed the small jar fully of bright umbrellas to put in drinks.

"Red," he says, taking a seat at the bar. "The umbrella, I mean. The drink can be whatever you want."

"Glad you clarified." Clarice said with a laugh. "I was going to point out that my hair is actually magenta." She reached for the little red umbrella and set it down on a cocktail napkin before grabbing the alcohol for the same drink she had, Manhattan.

"Hope you like whiskey."

"Like it well enough," Thor says with a half-smile. "Could be stronger, though. Doesn't quite beat Asgardian drink."

"You know, if one of the inn's weirdness lets you go to Asgard, bring back some of that ale you keep talking about. I want to try it." Clarice teased as she made the drink.

With a flourish she put the umbrella in the glass, and brought out three cherries with stems and lined them up on a small plastic sword and placed it on the opposite side of the umbrella.

Thor smiles to himself. "We don't have to wait, you know," he says. "My brother and I managed to brew some here."

Thor is visibly proud of this. Thor plucks the sword out and gently uses his teeth to drag the cherry along the sword's long, plastic blade.

He holds the cherry carefully in his front teeth. "Allow me to demonstrate," he says, though it comes out considerably more mangled as he does not move his mouth to speak.

But he does move to shut it. Immediately, Thor gets to work, neatly plucking the stem from its cherry. Teeth and tongue work in tandem as Thor begins to knot the stem.

"And you didn't think to share with your best teleporting buddy? I'm hurt." She teased him as she watched him tie the knot, or at least try to until she saw the results.
