[Arrival GP] it’s summer, right?
June, Xavin decided, was a puzzling month. It still seemed like spring in some ways, but was very summer already in others. Among the ways that it was summer: less demand for hot drinks. And yes, she could do iced, but that tended to mean hauling ice to her coffee-cart territory and that got old fast.
Since it was arrival day, therefore, she was trying something new. She’d taken over part of the cafe (with a decentish view of the lobby) and set it up with blenders, fruits, and other things. Surely smoothies would be acceptable, and the cafe space meant not having to haul ice.
As a further acknowledgement of probable sun and warmth, Xavin ensured there were obvious stacks of towels near the more usual baskets of things for new arrivals. If there were any newcomers and she’d forgotten something, well... it would probably be all right eventually.

Re: Jason's Arrival
"Hi." She approached with a smile, and motioned toward his hand that had a towel in it. "Uh just so you know, the staff here like to give towels away. I mean a lot. I mean you're probably going to get tired of saying no thanks to the bazillion offers of towels from them."
Re: Jason's Arrival
He turned, looking pregnant from towels and paused as if to say 'nothing to see here.' When he realized he wasn't about to be yelled at or arrested, he relaxed a little.
"What? Are you kidding me? Towels are the best. You can do so much with them. Like togas and bibs and even capes."
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Okay, I'll give you that they're versatile, which will actually come in handy when you get tired of wearing the same kind of clothes." Her eyes lit with amusement, "do you normally wear a towel cape?"
Re: Jason's Arrival
"I will now!" As if to prove it, he wrapped a bright pink one around his neck. He put his hands on his hips and grinned. With the towels stuff in his stomach, he looked like a pregnant superhero. "How dope do I look?"
Re: Jason's Arrival
Re: Jason's Arrival
"I know, right?" He grinned widely and apparently made no attempt to pull out the towels shoved up inside of his shirt. "But, uh... I mean, towels are great and stuff, but I don't really know where I am? Not that that's like, new or anything, but I thought I was going somewhere bad because the lady in black was angry at me."

Re: Jason's Arrival
Jason went silent and it was probably clear by his face he was trying to suss out the answer like he was doing some very hard math equation.
Re: Jason's Arrival
"You have those, too? Well I don't know about the last one but bad people pretending to be good or good people pretending to be bad, definitely." Well some vampires and big bads like the Mayor.
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Those people are confusing." He looked at the very pretty blonde. "Sometimes I tell them things, like my bank account number, and then the next thing I know I'm being investigated by the FBI."
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Were they hackers?" Not that hackers were bad. Willow was one - technically.
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Uh." He thought about the questions about hackers. "No? They said they worked for a company that went into accounts and made sure all the things were in the right places. Like a cleaning lady! So I thought they'd be good to keep my accounts clean, you know?"
Re: Jason's Arrival
"I get why it would sound like a good idea." Buffy nodded though she wouldn't have had enough money that anyone would think to try to scam her. "Especially if it's your first bank account."
Re: Jason's Arrival
"I think that was like, my twelfth?" He made a scrunched up face and then shrugged as if to say 'ah well, on to the next one!'
"Anyway, I'm glad there's no one like that here." He beamed - his bank account would be safe. "More importantly, is there like, a food place? I'm hella hungry."
Re: Jason's Arrival
"There's three places to eat. Come on, I'll show you." Buffy started walking in the direction of them. "There's a restaurant, a cafe and a bakery. Room service, too of course like any hotel, but most people eat down here."
Re: Jason's Arrival
Jason's grin somehow got even bigger as he followed the woman. No money? Did that mean everything was free? Clearly, this was the Good Place after all.
(ooc: Fade with Buffy unfortunately watching Jason stuff his face? lol)
