[Arrival GP] it’s summer, right?
June, Xavin decided, was a puzzling month. It still seemed like spring in some ways, but was very summer already in others. Among the ways that it was summer: less demand for hot drinks. And yes, she could do iced, but that tended to mean hauling ice to her coffee-cart territory and that got old fast.
Since it was arrival day, therefore, she was trying something new. She’d taken over part of the cafe (with a decentish view of the lobby) and set it up with blenders, fruits, and other things. Surely smoothies would be acceptable, and the cafe space meant not having to haul ice.
As a further acknowledgement of probable sun and warmth, Xavin ensured there were obvious stacks of towels near the more usual baskets of things for new arrivals. If there were any newcomers and she’d forgotten something, well... it would probably be all right eventually.

Aphrodite's Arrival
When no response was given - not even some thunder - Aphrodite huffed. "Great." Her eyes turned back to the lobby and she turned around in a complete circle. At least there was a lot of pink.
Aphrodite & Toby
He stopped dead in his tracks when a beautiful (though not as beautiful as Darcy because no one was as beautiful as Darcy) woman appeared in sparkles. "WOAH! That is totally cool. Do you travel like that all the time? My friend Thor can travel like that except he doesn't have gold sparkles when he teleports. He should definitely get some though."
Re: Aphrodite & Toby
She turned to look at the boy who was not as handsome as she'd have hoped, but the way he looked at her made up for everything. She grinned widely. "Of course. Any other form of travel's for suckers. I mean, don't get me wrong, every girl loves a gold chariot, but I love instant gratification." The goddess winked at the boy who probably didn't get her double entendre. "Are you one of the people stuck here as well?"

"Free food and adventure." Sounded like something Iolaus would be drawn to by way of advertising. She scrunched her nose. "What about massages, spas, and hot springs. They have any of those here?"

Jason's Arrival
When he got inside, he looked around. It was so... fancy. He walked in a bit further and saw the towels. Donkey Doug had always taught him clean towels were important so he started stuffing them under his Jacksonville jersey.
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Hi." She approached with a smile, and motioned toward his hand that had a towel in it. "Uh just so you know, the staff here like to give towels away. I mean a lot. I mean you're probably going to get tired of saying no thanks to the bazillion offers of towels from them."
Re: Jason's Arrival
He turned, looking pregnant from towels and paused as if to say 'nothing to see here.' When he realized he wasn't about to be yelled at or arrested, he relaxed a little.
"What? Are you kidding me? Towels are the best. You can do so much with them. Like togas and bibs and even capes."
Re: Jason's Arrival
"Okay, I'll give you that they're versatile, which will actually come in handy when you get tired of wearing the same kind of clothes." Her eyes lit with amusement, "do you normally wear a towel cape?"
Re: Jason's Arrival
"I will now!" As if to prove it, he wrapped a bright pink one around his neck. He put his hands on his hips and grinned. With the towels stuff in his stomach, he looked like a pregnant superhero. "How dope do I look?"

Janet's Arrival
This is unusual for Janet, whose knowledge of the universe and everything in it is requisite for her role as Informational Assistant of the Good Place. Though this is wholey unexpected, Janet is, as always, completely unruffled by the strangeness of this entirely foreign situation.
With a pleasant ding, Janet promptly transports herself to the inn's front desk. She regards the man standing there with a slight quirk of the brow, but feels some strange connection with him.
"Hello," she says to him. He slides a numbered envelope across the table to her. Janet promptly picks it up and turns it around in her hands. This is unusual! When she opens it, she finds that there's a key inside. It is quite easy to deduce what is meant by this.
"Thank you," she says with typical Janet pleasantness. "I have no questions for you."
She promptly vanishes again with her usual ding, then reappears in front of her room with the same chime. She is taking in the sight of her very garishly-decorated door when someone approaches.
Re: Janet's Arrival
Ties were useful weapons.
Anyway, his powers made him an oddity even when nothing else did... right up until he saw a woman appear in front of a door with a gentle ding. A woman without a briefcase, whose power therefore had to be internal to her. He blinked down the hall and surveyed her up close, not thinking to speak until he realized that watching someone watching a door was another oddity. "Hey. Haven't seen you around before."

Leo's Arrival
Rescuing Calypso was easy and so was getting her off her island, but then they just kept getting lost. It was tiring, really. The Sea of Monsters was exactly how much fun as it sounded.
Then suddenly Festus, the large bronze dragon carrying Leo and Calypso, was hit by something. Leo hadn't seen it, but he definitely felt it. "Festus?"
Leo felt himself slip. Calypso reached for him, but at the same time Festus dipped the other way. Leo reached desperately for some place to get a hold, but the grease on his hands made things slippery. He made eye contact with Calypso, who looked utterly upset, and then Leo plunged.
Plunged all the way down into the pool of the Madonna Inn. It would have killed a normal person, but Leo was a demigod. It just really, really, really hurt. An emergency drone in Leo's pocket activated and the teenage boy was pulled to the surface as he suddenly had a life preserver around his neck.
Leo and Clarice
Re: Leo and Clarice
He groaned in response. At least one of his latest inventions worked? After a moment, Leo told himself to move. He had ambrosia in his toolbelt, so he used that as motivation.
He did his best back stroke - Percy would have probably given him a 5 out of 10 for it - and eventually found himself on the edge of the pool. He deflated the life jacket that seemed to disappear back under his shirt as he reached into his belt for a tiny piece of food that sort of looked like Turkish Delight.
He ate it in one piece and his eyes fluttered closed for a moment - that's the stuff. When he opened his eyes, he felt a lot better. He wasn't a hundred percent better, but at least he didn't feel broken all over.
"So, uh.. where am I?" He started to look around.
Re: Leo and Clarice
"It's a hotel in a kind of pocket dimension. We're all stuck here so congratulations on joining the team."
Re: Leo and Clarice
"I'm at a hotel in a pocket dimension?" He rubbed his shoulders. "Wait. This isn't like, Ogygia, is it?" He groaned. "We just left there. I so did not want to find my way back to some unleaveable place."
He looked up in the sky. "Whoever's responsible, can you just... not?" Not that Leo was expecting an answer as he looked back to the woman. "I'm Leo, by the way. Nice hair."

Jason and Janet
It was hard building a fort from just towels - he didn't even have a decent couch to help with cushions! When he was done, the fort ended up just being two towels strung between the bed and the small table in his room. Anyone who walked in would clearly see Jason and Jason had to crouch to keep from touching the 'ceiling'.
"This would be more fun with people." Jason pouted. Then he got a brilliant idea. His eyes widened. "Hey, Janet?"
Re: Jason and Janet
"Hi, Jason. How can I help you?"
Re: Jason and Janet
His eyes widened happily. Something in the far back of his mind said something like that shouldn't have worked, but he told that weird voice to shut up because the voice wasn't his real dad.
"Want to join me in my fort?" He grinned. "It's super cool. There's like, two towels." He also had a pile of towels strewn on the floor. He had 'stolen' about a dozen.
Re: Jason and Janet
Re: Jason and Janet
He grinned. Forts were better with more people for sure.
After a minute of just enjoying being in a fort with a super cool chick, he broke the silence. "Janet? Are we back in the Good Place or the Bad Place? Or is this some sort of new place? Like, uh. The Other Place?"
