GP/EP: Check-In Day: Turning Tricks into Treats
Instead of the remains of a raucous night of dedicated drinking, the chairs were up on the tables, the counter was cleaned, the floor had been vacuumed and mopped as appropriate. Kitty had had plenty of time to straighten up at close yesterday, since almost everyone seemed more interested in drinking in Bonesville. For her part, she'd had enough after her and Wyatt's little adventure in Funland. At least, she'd had enough for the few days it would take her to heal.
On the upside, that made opening up this morning easy and fast. On the downside, it meant she had an entire day with not much to distract her from wondering when Barrel of Fun would lock down access to the outside and why it couldn't open onto a world with higher tech. She had managed to scavenge some computer circuitry and cell phones, but she hadn't worked out how they'd solve her current tech problem yet.
If Dot were still here, she'd be baking for Halloween. Even if they'd had to explain Halloween to her, she'd be making cookies and candy and cakes, and probably sewing costumes, too. Those thoughts summoned a wistful sigh from Kitty while she took down the chairs. She was still sighing when she finished refreshing her stock of cut up fruit.
By mid-afternoon, she'd put away a pot and a half of coffee, she was practically vibrating, and a buzz-by from Caroline prompted an amazing idea. Why not spend the afternoon testing Halloween and Thanksgiving cocktails, to help turn the arrival trick of Check-In Day on the 1st into, well, a little bit of a treat? So it was that the new arrivals, two days earlier than expected, found the bar counter covered with spooky and kooky and dry-ice steamy drinks and Kitty literally spinning between her coffee cup and the next bright green, weirdly black, or pumpkin orange drink.
[ooc: find Kitty making any of these or drinking yet another cup of coffee, she's OTA]

Bo - OTA
Somehow she found her way into the bar and slumped onto a stool. "Beer. Wine. Tequila. Whatever." Bo just needed to have a bit of a pity party right now.
Re: Bo - OTA
Happy to see her wasn't quite how he'd describe the emotion - certainly he could FEEL happiness but feeling anything where Bo was concerned was a thorny issue. And he wasn't entirely sure what he felt as he moved across the bar and slid onto the stool beside her.
"Bo." Chatty isn't he.
Re: Bo - OTA
Her head whipped up. She paused, at first not knowing what to say. "Dyson?" Her voice was confused, disbelief, and there was the faintest of quivering. Suddenly the events from back home were fresh again and Lauren's crying rang in her ears.
Bo stared at Dyson without moving for a long minute or two and then without much thought behind it, leaned forward to hug him tightly. He had disappeared - again - and she missed him, but more than anything she just needed someone who knew her right now.
Re: Bo - OTA
"Please tell me you didn't end up here because you were looking for me." That would be too much.
Re: Bo - OTA
"No." She shook her head. "Though it's not like I didn't want to go look for you or anything. Just, you know, the whole Garuda and impending war thing made it hard to leave everyone who needed help."
Re: Bo - OTA
"I had to deal with some things," not an excuse for leaving them but it was true. Archer had almost succeeded in making him destroy himself, he'd been on a razors edge and staying hadn't been an option.
But how did he explain that to someone who hadn't met Archer?
"And I knew you had everything under control."
Re: Bo - OTA
Her fingers curled up until she had two fists on the counter. In a very quiet voice after taking a deep breath, Bo finally admitted it out loud. "I had to kill Nadia."
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
Lauren probably would never talk to her again.

But tonight, he was more interested in the bottle from which he poured himself another drink than in what paying her compliments might get him. Didn't mean she wouldn't be getting the compliments, though.
Re: Bo - OTA
"I'm Bo. Just got here today."
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
Bo wasn't sure she believed it either. She was sure there was some way out.
Re: Bo - OTA
He wouldn't believe anything this preposterous until he had experienced it for himself. Could as easily be the scientist in him as the mule-headed.
Re: Bo - OTA
Plus she really wanted to punch something.

So he kept walking past the newcomer with the dark hair and dark eyes and great legs until he got around the other side of the bar. "Tequila," he said and put a bottle in front of her and a glass. Then grabbed a pitcher and filled it with whatever Kitty had on draft. "Beer. Skip the wine if you're going for blackout. Last thing you're going to want tomorrow when you're trying to find your way out of here is a sugar hangover."

Re: Bo - OTA
"I'm Bo. It's nice to meet you Sam." She took a sip of tequila. Kenzi would definitely like the liquor quality in this place if she was here.
"When you get through into another world while in the middle of some complicated stuff, it kind of messes with your happy meter."
Re: Bo - OTA
"If you want to talk specifics, I'm pretty hard to shock. If drinking and hitting things is more your style, I can tell you who not to get in a fight with." He quirked her a little smile. If he'd met her at home, he'd have guessed her for a hunter. She had that look in her eyes.
Re: Bo - OTA
"I'm getting the sense people who've been here a lot are used to seeing a lot of strange things... unless you're saying you're used to that stuff even back home."
Re: Bo - OTA
He grabbed himself a beer stein and one for her and filled them both from the pitcher. "Pick guys over women to fight. I've never met so many women who can throw you across the room without breaking a sweat."
Re: Bo - OTA
Her expression turned somewhat sultry at his comment about the women. "I don't know. That sounds like it could be a lot of fun." Her eyebrows lifted a little in a playful manner. It's how she often liked her men too, if she were being honest. "Although I like a little sweat. Not really any fun otherwise." She was speaking both for actual fighting and for more pleasurable activities.
