GP/EP: Check-In Day: Turning Tricks into Treats
Instead of the remains of a raucous night of dedicated drinking, the chairs were up on the tables, the counter was cleaned, the floor had been vacuumed and mopped as appropriate. Kitty had had plenty of time to straighten up at close yesterday, since almost everyone seemed more interested in drinking in Bonesville. For her part, she'd had enough after her and Wyatt's little adventure in Funland. At least, she'd had enough for the few days it would take her to heal.
On the upside, that made opening up this morning easy and fast. On the downside, it meant she had an entire day with not much to distract her from wondering when Barrel of Fun would lock down access to the outside and why it couldn't open onto a world with higher tech. She had managed to scavenge some computer circuitry and cell phones, but she hadn't worked out how they'd solve her current tech problem yet.
If Dot were still here, she'd be baking for Halloween. Even if they'd had to explain Halloween to her, she'd be making cookies and candy and cakes, and probably sewing costumes, too. Those thoughts summoned a wistful sigh from Kitty while she took down the chairs. She was still sighing when she finished refreshing her stock of cut up fruit.
By mid-afternoon, she'd put away a pot and a half of coffee, she was practically vibrating, and a buzz-by from Caroline prompted an amazing idea. Why not spend the afternoon testing Halloween and Thanksgiving cocktails, to help turn the arrival trick of Check-In Day on the 1st into, well, a little bit of a treat? So it was that the new arrivals, two days earlier than expected, found the bar counter covered with spooky and kooky and dry-ice steamy drinks and Kitty literally spinning between her coffee cup and the next bright green, weirdly black, or pumpkin orange drink.
[ooc: find Kitty making any of these or drinking yet another cup of coffee, she's OTA]

Re: Bo - OTA
"I'm Bo. Just got here today."
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
Bo wasn't sure she believed it either. She was sure there was some way out.
Re: Bo - OTA
He wouldn't believe anything this preposterous until he had experienced it for himself. Could as easily be the scientist in him as the mule-headed.
Re: Bo - OTA
Plus she really wanted to punch something.
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
Bo shrugged at his question. Kitty didn't strike her as the lying type. "I mean, with the right sort of magic I'm sure anything is possible. Trust me, I've seen some really weird shit... but what I also know is that there is always a way to win."
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
She sighed. "Sorry... I guess I just kind of assumed you..." Bo shook her head. "Never mind. The point is someone brought us here, right? So, I'm going to find them and stop them."
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
"Alright. Well, where I come from there are two types of people. There are humans and then there are Fae. Basically all those things from fairytales and stories are true, they just are good at hiding in plain sight. And some of them can do magic. Not David Copperfield magic. More like Harry Potter Hogwarts stuff." Not that she'd seen any of the movies, much to Kenzi's chagrin.

And then holding her gaze became staring at her in awe, fascination, even something damn close to love, right in the moment, strong as it felt, cutting through his inebriation. Very sexual love, sure, but hey. He'd always been a passionate man, and the sensations he was feeling... He couldn't even think about how none of this was normal, right then, taken up as he was in what he was feeling, his rough fingers wrapped warmly around Bo's.
He felt like he'd do just about anything for her right then.
Re: Bo - OTA
Depending on the man's willpower and inner strength would depend on how lingering some of the effects were. Often it faded in stages with the last thing to go was the euphoric feeling.
Re: Bo - OTA
"That's a hell of a trick, darlin'," he told Bo, his heart beating a little too hard. What had it been? He took a very healthy drink from his glass to try and break away from... whatever that had been.
Re: Bo - OTA
"I'm Bo, by the way." She didn't extend her hand since she figured that wouldn't go over so well. She did, however, lift her own glass in a little 'cheers'.
Re: Bo - OTA
Susan would make a killing with whatever that drug must be.
"You ever thought of going into business with that?"
Re: Bo - OTA
"You mean like, a brothel?" She shook her head. "No thanks. I think I make a pretty good detective instead. I like helping people." Sometimes she did use her powers to help people too
Re: Bo - OTA
Re: Bo - OTA
She nodded. "I am. Most of the time anyways. Missing people, problems the police can't or won't solve - that sort of thing."
