It's Pronounced "Tiefling" - OTA

Zahra needed to get a lay of the land now that she had arrived and things seemed to have calmed down a little. She was sure leaving the room would worry Kash, but she had only ventured out a few times briefly and now it felt right. She had filled him in on everything that she knew happened back home, spent many days enjoying the marvel of hot baths on demand, and discovered what a 'TV' was and tried to get some idea of what this plane was like. Now it was time to experience it for herself.

Zahra did not hide what she was. The red-skinned Tiefling wore a grey dress with a hole cut and sewn to allow her tail freedom of movement behind her. She decided to leave her staff behind, but she had done so after a lot of thought. The humans here didn't need to see her walking around with a weapon, but she felt naked and vulnerable. Kash said they were safe and so she would lean on those words as she navigated the inn weaponless.

She found the pool, crouching down by the water and feeling the cool water against her fingers. She could smell something from the water that told her the water wasn't entirely pure. It took her some time to figure out it was a place to bathe or swim, like a lake in the middle of the forest. She did take note of the heated part of the pool.

Her next step was through the lobby to the bar. Taverns looked similar no matter what plane of existence you were on, it seemed. She felt her stomach growl and after a moment found her way to the restaurant. She ordered the chicken because it reminded her of Scanlan.

After her meal she found her way to the library. There were not as many books as there was in Whitestone or even the Slayer's Take, but there were many. She started to peruse.

Her last stop was to Vex's room. She knocked and waited patiently.

(ooc: Find her anywhere. She has white eyes with no pupil or iris and horns on her head.)

Sunny nodded. "My life was more university and wrangling fairies who were trying very, very badly to pass for humans, but there was the occasional 'everyone is going to die' disaster, too." She never thought she'd miss the monster fighting, but she did. Because that at least had been her life.

"Unfortunately," Sunny answered flatly. "Though... a couple of them were very sweet." Winter and Phouka were both too precious for the world. And yet so very dangerous.

And oh yeah the part where Phouka had taken her virginity, that in no way influenced her thinking.

"Yes. But my world is a world that doesn't believe magic is real, so..." Sunny's shoulders rolled in a shrug. "Most beings that can't pass for human keep to their own realms."

Remembering Belinda, Sunny smiled at that, sheepish and awkward. "Most of them, yeah."

"I got a job offer from one," Sunny admitted, shrugging one shoulder. "She hoarded stories, so she ran a publishing company."

The corners of Sunny's mouth twitched up in a little smile. "Belinda was definitely a first for me, but she was sincere. And she liked me and figured it didn't do her any harm to have a witch on staff. Of course then I ended up here, so." She shrugged.

Sunny wasn't offended in the slightest. She threw her head back and laughed. "Part of the disguise maybe? I don't know. But as far as I know, none of her employees had the first clue what she was."

"She wasn't what I expected. That happened a lot in London," she mused. Sunny hadn't really thought about it before. "For the most part, the non-humans who made their homes there just wanted to live their lives. And then you'd get the occasional serious predator who'd screw it up for everybody."

Yeah, Sunny's mother would be wielding a cross with wild abandon by now, even though she dismissed most of the superstitions common in their culture. "Humans are dumb, panicky, tribal animals, I can't exactly judge."

Sunny grinned at that. "I shall take this as the very high praise it is." Lillith was dear to her, human or not. The albinism was part of it, but more than that Lillith was a good friend.

Sunny nodded. "Absolutely. Talking shop is one of the joys of meeting people trained in other schools." It was one of the foundations of her friendships with other wizards in London. She liked them as people, otherwise she'd never have put up with them, but untangling the many ways they did magic was still one of the best parts.

"Stronger and hopefully wiser," Sunny agreed. Strength was important, but wisdom was valued much more highly among her people.

"It's great to meet you. I know Lillith has missed you very much."
