It's Pronounced "Tiefling" - OTA

Zahra needed to get a lay of the land now that she had arrived and things seemed to have calmed down a little. She was sure leaving the room would worry Kash, but she had only ventured out a few times briefly and now it felt right. She had filled him in on everything that she knew happened back home, spent many days enjoying the marvel of hot baths on demand, and discovered what a 'TV' was and tried to get some idea of what this plane was like. Now it was time to experience it for herself.

Zahra did not hide what she was. The red-skinned Tiefling wore a grey dress with a hole cut and sewn to allow her tail freedom of movement behind her. She decided to leave her staff behind, but she had done so after a lot of thought. The humans here didn't need to see her walking around with a weapon, but she felt naked and vulnerable. Kash said they were safe and so she would lean on those words as she navigated the inn weaponless.

She found the pool, crouching down by the water and feeling the cool water against her fingers. She could smell something from the water that told her the water wasn't entirely pure. It took her some time to figure out it was a place to bathe or swim, like a lake in the middle of the forest. She did take note of the heated part of the pool.

Her next step was through the lobby to the bar. Taverns looked similar no matter what plane of existence you were on, it seemed. She felt her stomach growl and after a moment found her way to the restaurant. She ordered the chicken because it reminded her of Scanlan.

After her meal she found her way to the library. There were not as many books as there was in Whitestone or even the Slayer's Take, but there were many. She started to peruse.

Her last stop was to Vex's room. She knocked and waited patiently.

(ooc: Find her anywhere. She has white eyes with no pupil or iris and horns on her head.)

"Me, either." Molly admitted. "In my world the wizards have seven laws that can't be broken. I mean they can but it means death, and using magic to change death is one of the laws."

Sure there were loopholes like when Harry reanimated Sue the T-Rex to fight the really bad guys, but he didn't technically break it.

"Sure they're don't kill by use of magic, don't transform others, don't invade the mind of another, you can't enthrall another, never reach beyond the borders of life, don't swim against the Currents of Time, never ever seek beyond the Outer Gates." Molly ticked them off one by one. "The last one is super important because that's where the Outsiders are." The ones that a lot of people think were behind the current war.

"It does extend to resurrection." Molly thought about it, "not that I go by the laws anymore, but I guess I've seen too many horror movies to not think you might not come back okay." She made a face, "I would be tempted if it was someone I cared about, don't get me wrong, but I don't know if I actually would break that law."

"Your friend was okay?" Molly asked despite herself and when winced. "Sorry, none of my business."

She didn't mention that Kash had put a Death Ward on her, Corbie and River once so she knew what that was like. Not that it ever had been put to the test.

"Maybe. I've noticed while my magic works the same as it does at home, there aren't ley lines here. So maybe there's other subtle differences in the other worlds." Molly nodded.

She also thought another theory that since Kash had a connection to death, maybe being able to resurrect didn't turn people into human monkey paws.

She knew the other woman had absolutely no idea how much those words wounded Molly. The unexpected sword twisted deep into her abdomen and apparently Molly was a masochist, because in that instant she needed to feel what Zahra was feeling. The warmth of the amusement, caring and love flooded through her and drove the sword deeper. Wishing happiness for Kash was not the same as experiencing it. It hurt and it didn’t matter that she was truly happy that his other half was there, it still hurt.

The monster that she continuously chained wanted to lash out, but the idea was ruthlessly pushed aside. Instead the shield slammed back shut and the mask came down into place, a warm smile played across her features. She was getting really good at playing a part, something she’d honed in Chicago with Harry’s death.

“You definitely don’t want him to worry that you left, especially since you just got here. I need to get going, too, almost time for work.” She was also a damn good liar. She needed to run through the hurt and the pain and come out the other side with a friendship with Kash intact. The kicker was that she actually liked Zahra. It seemed the Fates really hated her.
