Some of Jane's memories were returning, thanks to Molly, and she had some intense conversations with Alex about her possible military background. All of this had her looking at her tattoos differently. There was one that was barely visible on her arm underneath a black patch of ink. Molly had done a glamour spell that was able to remove the ink cover but it was still faint. It was clear enough so that Jane could research it and she'd learned it belonged to the Navy Seals.

That got her even more motivated as she sat at a table with a scattering of books around her that had military images, a notebook and a mirror. Jane was in the process of trying to look at a smaller tattoo on her back and try to sketch it. Neither was successful and she was getting frustrated. She needed a way to catalog all of her tattoos so that she could start to see if anything related to any of the memories that were emerging.

Liz was out looking for some inspiration for her next project for Piotr when she noticed Jane at a table. She paused to watch for a second, not meaning to be nosy. When she noticed the woman was frustrated, Liz quietly approached, hugging her sketchpad to her chest.

"Do you, um.. Do you need some help?"

Jane glanced up at the familiar voice and smiled when she saw it was Liz. "Hi, yeah I do. I thought I'd start making a list of all my tattoos and not just describing them. Sort of a catalog. Unfortunately, I don't have artistic talent and I don't have a camera."

Which left her frustrated and a doodle that looked more like Picasso than Still Life.

Her eyes widened a bit. "Oh! Um. Well, I mean, I've been learning how to draw. Maybe - Maybe I could help? I'm not that great, either though... oh! But I do know someone with a camera. I could, probably ask him if I could borrow his phone if you'd like?"

"Oh you know someone with a camera on their phone? That would be great if he'd let you borrow it." Jane smiled. "I'm not sure that I'll be able to find anything on the tattoos but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have them cataloged."

Liz wanted to help and her body lurched a little forward in excitement. "I'll - I'll be right back!" and without quite running, she made her way towards Peter's room. It took about ten or so minutes for Liz to return, maybe 15 as there was some blushing and stammering between her and Peter, but she came back with a phone in hand and even the charger.

"So, um. He said it was okay as long as we don't delete his other photos." Liz smiled. "I thought maybe... maybe we could take photos and have Piotr sketch them so you can have copies with you all the time?" Since the phone would eventually have to go back to Peter and Liz's limited knowledge of phones with cameras was... well, very limited.

"Thank you, I'd like that a lot." Jane was pleased with the idea, but then added, "my tattoos are all over my body." She emphasized the all for Liz to understand. "Is your friend Piotr an artist that's used to nude models?" She assumed that he was.

Liz was the one that blushed at this. "Um. Well... I'm sure he'd be okay. I mean, he's really good and a professional." And gay, though she told herself immediately after that thought that that didn't matter if someone was comfortable looking at naked people. And then she thought about Peter having naked photos on his phone and she made a big mental note to find out how to delete photos before she handed the phone back to him.

"Piotr's really nice. If it'll help you learn stuff, I'm sure he'd say yes."

Jane watched the emotions flit over Liz's face before she nodded. "Okay, that sounds like a plan. If your friend is willing to help, too, I'll take both of your help. We can start with the photos on the easier to see ones and maybe your friend can sketch the harder to see in person. A naked model." That way Liz wouldn't have to be embarrassed to take nude photos of Jane.

Her shoulders seemed to relax a little and she nodded. Yes, that made a lot more sense. It wasn't really that Liz was embarrassed about a naked woman more than she had never really taken pictures of one and even while being helpful it seemed really odd.

"I think that makes a lot of sense. Plus you'll have some stuff to look up first." She smiled wide. "Where did you want to start?"

(ooc: Any you want Liz to maybe know something about?)

"How about here?" Jane pointed to an area of her body that wasn't easy for her to see but it wouldn't cause Liz any embarrassment.





(ooc: There's a tattoo on her body - the show never says where - of the CDC logo. That might be something that Liz would recognize. Or there is a tattoo of the number pi with some numbers missing if Liz would recognize Pi.)

"Okay." Liz nodded, moving to where Jane had pointed. It took Liz longer than someone her age ought to turn on the phone and get to the camera. She looked like she had to think about it - because she did. The whole 'phones do more than phone' thing was still pretty new to her.

Finally she got the camera up, she brought up the phone and took a photo. The flash went off, which surprised her since it hadn't the last time Peter used it, but it managed to get a decent photo. Then Liz pause. "oh! um. I think - I think I might know this one?"

She felt silly because why would she know something like that? But still, she moved around to show Jane the photo. "These numbers? I think they're supposed to be Pi. But, um. But some numbers are missing and I don't really know Pi off the top of my head passed like the 8th number." She scrunched her nose apologetically.

"No, that's good." Jane got excited. "that's something we can research." She might not know all the numbers of pi either but she was pretty sure someone here would or maybe a book would have it.

"There had to be a reason why the numbers are missing."

"Like a code?" Liz wished she could look at the numbers and suddenly figure it all out. Her eyes drifted from those to Jane's other tattoos and her mind started to turn over the information. "Did you - if you can't read them, does that, um, mean you didn't get these yourself?"

"I don't know." She said honestly. "I don't have any memories about them but..." Jane turned around in her chair and lifted the back of her shirt, not in the least bit shy about it, to show Liz not only the tattoos on her back but the specific one between her shoulder blades.

"I have a feeling they are connected in some way to Kurt Weller, FBI."

"Oh wow..." Liz hadn't really realized just how many tattoos Jane had. She had to wonder if that many had hurt badly or not.

"And you don't remember any of these?" Liz frowned. "That's really unfair."

Jane lowered her shirt and shifted back around to look at Liz. "I don't remember any of them. For all I know, it was my choice to have this done. Though I don't know why I would have."

"Maybe you knew you were going to lose your memory." The theory came out before she thought about it, then looked sheepish. "Sorry." It felt weird talking about Jane like this because Liz didn't know her too well.

"No, don't be. That's one of the working theories." Jane admitted. "That I was part of this whole thing, whatever it is. That I put myself through this but I don't know why I would. Maybe one of these tattoos will lead me to figure out whatever it is I did."

"Has any... um, helped you remember anything yet?" Liz didn't really mean to, but she found herself looking at the tattoos she could see on Jane, hoping to recognize something.

"My friend, Molly. She does mind magic and has started to unlock my memories." Jane said freely, knowing that Molly didn't keep her abilities to herself. "And it's helped a lot. That's how I knew I was a soldier, but I want to help myself. Be active." Her lips quirked, "not that letting others draw for me is active but at least the research part is."

"But asking for help is helping yourself. We can't always do things on our own." Liz might be calling the pot black a little there, but she meant it. "Maybe Piotr can teach you how to draw. But even still, it might be hard to draw something on your elbow or behind your thigh without a little help."

"True enough." Jane acknowledged, "and it never hurts to have more eyes looking at it. You'll see it from a new perspective that I might not have thought about."

Liz nodded, then her eyes widened a bit. "Oh! I see - there's another one I recognize." Which really surprised her because there were a lot that she didn't know at all. Liz pointed to one she realized that Jane couldn't really see and stopped pointing. "There's, um. One for the CDC? I think, anyways. We had to do projects on diseases for biology once."

It took Jane a minute and then the answer seemed to pop into her head. She had no idea how she knew, but she knew that CDC was Center for Disease Control.

"I have a tattoo for the CDC?" Jane was confused and then she wondered, "do you think why would do this to me? Wipe my memories?"

She paused to think about it. "Maybe you got a rare disease that makes you forget?" No, that probably wasn't it. "Or... I don't know." She frowned, feeling unhelpful. "It must be really frustrating not remembering things like that."
