[GP] training day
There was a trope that in prison there wasn't much to do except work out or read. As colorful as Madonna Inn might be, it was still a prison. And look, somebody had put together a library.
Put fifty some people, many of them military, adventurers, vigilantes, or superheroes of one stripe or another, in a prison with none of the urgent missions or near-death experiences they were used to, the fitness center was going to be a popular place. Maybe almost as popular as the bar.
... Probably not quite that popular.
There were free weights and weight machines, treadmills and ellipticals, yoga mats and exercise balls. A room set aside for classes, if someone decided to lead. A large square had been taped over an area of the floor off to one side as a make-shift sparring space. Sports equipment had been brought back from Bonesville for those who preferred more organized games. And those who had been stuck here longest remembered there hadn't always been a salmon ladder.
In other words, something for just about everybody. And you could usually find someone in there if you were looking for a spotter, workout buddy, sparring partner, friendly competition too.

Re: OTA
"So, not your choice, huh?" He wondered if she was happy with that. "Mine either."
He came at Buffy with a series of punches and jabs.
Re: OTA
"Nope, and it sucks." Not that she would give it up now. It was something that she missed that she never thought she would. "But it's also kind of nice having an ability no one has or knows about."
Re: OTA
He could feel his fingers tingle as he reached up to meet her foot with his hands. He exhaled in response to the impact, then tried to use her momentum against her by spinning her leg in an attempt to send her to the ground.
"It has its advantages."
Re: OTA
"Like being really good at cheerleading." Buffy teased.
Re: OTA
His eyebrow lifted with a wry 'that's hot' expression. "You're a cheerleader, huh?" Yep, his mind went there for a moment. "Nice."
Re: OTA
Re: OTA
Alec had not been thinking cheerleader in high school and momentarily needed acid for his brain, but he was thankful she revealed she was in college now. Legal was good.
He ducked from the punch and kicked out his leg to try and trip her.
Re: OTA
Re: OTA
Alec took the kick, but tried to hold onto her foot as he tumbled back with control to 'throw' her over him as his back hit the mat.
"Made this way." Which was the truth. "You know. One guy every generation..." Not the truth.
Re: OTA
Re: OTA
"Genetics." He threw a punch at her, followed up by the opposite leg in a kick. "Not like the mutants here though. I've always been this way and don't have weird-ass powers."
Re: OTA
She moved forward Slayer quick and threw a couple of punches like she would have against a vampire. It felt good!
Re: OTA
He felt her fist hit the side of his face and then he felt blood. He took a step back, but had a smile on his face. "You too."
Alec respected the Hell out of Buffy. He moved for his own series of quick attacks.
(ooc: If you want, we can fast forward to when both are tired? Unless you want one to 'win' hehe)
Re: OTA
Buffy felt her own lip cut and the blood that pooled there. It was good to fight like this and not be worried about dying. She hadn't done this type of sparring since Angel and while that thought would always bring bittersweet feelings, the pain wasn't as stinging as when she'd first arrived at the Inn.
She punched and counterpunched for what seemed like hours, and it easily could have been given that they were so equally matched, until she held up a hand for time. Her breath came in gasps and she sunk to the floor. "I am so going to need an hour in the sauna after that."
Re: OTA
Alec, too, was out of breath and was going to have a few bruises to heal up after this. It was nice. Almost reminded him of getting his ass kicked by Max. His smile was wide on his face. "I hear that. You kick some good ass." And she was hot too. Nice.
