Warm Jelly Donut - Open
Clarice still didn't sleep in her room. There were trust issues and decorating taste issues, but she was spending more time at the 'compound' as she called the Inn. Since the inhibitor collar was removed, Clarice's powers had been broken. She was pretty sure it had to do with everything that had happened to her, at least she hoped so.
So far everything that she'd tried to teleport came back split in two, even after she'd visited the places. Sometimes, it wouldn't hold true and fizzle out after a couple of minutes. The frustration was growing and she knew that made it even worse. She could hear John in her ear to concentrate on something you like.
She sat in the lobby, in one of the padded chairs, with a glowing light between her hands and a bunch of tennis balls at her feet. There was a light from the ceiling above, that correlated to the one between her hands. Clarice picked up one of the balls and tossed it through the teleport only to have two halves fall at her feet.
"Warm Jelly Donut."

Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Maybe you're messing up the spell wrong?" He looked at the tennis ball briefly. "Good you're not using human guinea pigs."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"But it's not that... wait did you say spell? Like magic?" She smiled slightly, "someone made that comparison before. It's not magic, but I guess it can be seen that way."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Ah, she was one of those people who could do things as part of some thing inside of them that wasn't magic.
"Like some of the others here." Scanlan whistles a bit of a tune and then suddenly disappeared in a purple blimp and appeared on the opposite end of the couch instantly, having dimension-doored his way over.
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"It's a spell for me, but yeah. I can do a bunch of other things, but that's one of my favourties." Scanlan looked pretty proud. "Great for escapes and getting into places."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Nope. But that's not really what the spell's capable of. It's more smaller distances. I have to know where I'm going." And he could only bring people his own size or smaller, too. "I have a feeling even if I normally could, I wouldn't be able to."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"This place likes to break the normal rules of things." Scanlan took a seat. "You'll find other annoying things soon, I'm sure." He paused. "Cool eyes, though."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Well that caught his attention. His eyebrows raised a little. "Are you a half-elf?"
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"I'm a Gnome." He didn't seem like it bothered him to admit it. Most people knew that of him back home, but here he was getting used to explaining. "If you hadn't noticed the height thing." He winked.
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Yeah. They're also usually stuck up like no one's business. Seriously - think of a human you know with a stick up their butt, then multiply that by five and you have most elves." Scanlan was not a fan. 'But half-elves are usually okay. Like Vex and Vax here."
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Well if that's the description of elves, I've definitely met them in my world." There was just a hint of amusement as she said it.
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Of course you do. The no-fun ones seem to multiply quicker than anyone's business in all the realms." And he'd been to several by now. "You think that's going to get better?" He gestured with an up-nod to the tennis ball in halves.
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
Re: Scanlan/Clarice
"Well, if you think actual healing might help, my friends Pike and Kash have the ability to heal through touch and restore things. Always worth a shot, right?" He shrugged. "But I'll let you get back to it. But if you'd like, I can give you a little inspiration."
He pulled out his shawm and played a little uplifting tune.
(ooc: Clarice would be inspired which would probably feel invigorating? For whatever that's worth lol)
