strangetrip | Unplanned and Spontaneous Travel

One of the locals in Zermatt had recommended going to Geneva as well as some of the Swiss wineries for day trips. Another suggestion had been to do some hiking and ski trails into Northern Italy from the Matterhorn, so Jane had taken them up on those suggestions.

After spending time skiing on the Matterhorn, she took one of the trails into Breuil-Cervinia, Italy and had lunch at a small restaurant with a view of the Alps and after shopping she stopped at a lovely local bar to warm up with alcohol before heading back into Switzerland.

When Jane was ready for some more nightlife than the carless town of Zermatt offered, she headed by train into Geneva. It was something that she craved, that she didn’t know that she did until she experienced it. This was a side that she learned about herself, she actually liked the energy of the large cities, with time for relaxation back at Zermatt.

Jane actually hadn't thought of that, but she guess she assumed when you died your spirit, essence, soul, whatever you wanted to call it would look like you.

"He must have shocked his friends and family, returning to life."

"Not really." He explained, "Benny had been dead for a long time that most of his family wasn't around anymore." Dean didn't mention the falling out with his vampire family, that wasn't his story to tell.

"It was hard on him coming back, it wasn't what he was expecting." Then he thought of Sam and how he hadn't tried to get Dean out of Purgatory or even look for him. "But then coming back from the dead is always hard." His lips quirked, "no matter how many times you do it."

Jane was taken aback by his answer. "No matter how many times you do it? How many times have you died and come back?"

Dean chuckled, "well counting Sammy and me, probably ten." That was an exaggeration but probably not by much. "Though some of those times were technicalities. I wasn't dead when I was in Purgatory."

Or when he'd got dragged to hell by a Hell Hound.

"Wow. That's incredible, but good to know that there really is an afterlife." Her lips quirked, "and one I might come back from." Then she turned serious, "so your time at the Inn is just like the other stopping over places. No wonder you seemed to adjust really quickly to it."

Jane hadn't had a problem either. It was the only place she really knew.

"My life since I was four has been filled with weird shit. This is just one more." Dean winked, "one more with a chance to go to Italy with a hot woman, so better than most."

"Only most?" Jane teased him. "I think I'm hurt."

[Fade on Dean's response?]

"I promise I'll make it up to you." Dean waggled his eyebrows and clinked his beer bottle against hers. "You can even drive." A beat. "the bike, too." He smirked.
