No -you're- brooding (OTA)
Alec sat at the bar with a bottle of Jack Daniels almost empty in front of him, though he was using a glass like a regular person. Still, despite his almost completion of an entire bottle, he looked like a man just starting on his journey of getting drunk - stupid genes.
He was trying not to dwell or let his mind wander, but he was doing a terrible job at that. Stark being here seemed to dredge up a lot of things Alec would most definitely prefer to keep bottled away - at least he hadn't disappeared to the woods?
He reached for a bottle of vodka. Round two: start.

His shoulders seemed to relax a little as she sat down and he glanced over and nodded to her. "Hey. How's it going?" Because that's what you asked when someone sat down, right?

It could be silence company, drinking company, listening or distraction company, but it would be company.

He smirked a little, just a hint. "Nah, I'm fine. Besides, you're good company, so I'd be an idiot to tell you to leave." He paused a little. "Plus I'd love to see if you could keep up."

He raised his eyebrows. "Is that a little like drunk driving? As long as I don't have to be the guinea pig, I'm in."

Alec & Corbie
And then she remembered him playing piano for her when she was down and that made her cross the room and place a hand on his shoulder, laying her cheek against his back.
Re: Alec & Corbie
He didn't need to see her to know who it was. She essence along Alec could seem to sense a mile away, but her scent, too, was familiar. His body relaxed almost instantly at her touch. He didn't say anything just yet, but he stopped reaching for his glass.

Re: Alec & Corbie
How could one tiny woman feel so warm?
"Would you be surprised if I said I punched a guy?" Though punching Stark wasn't actually what was bothering Alec.
Re: Alec & Corbie
Re: Alec & Corbie
He was quiet for a moment, his eyes drifting down to the liquid in his glass. "The guy happened to be Peter's mentor from back home."

He nods over to the bartender to bring another whiskey bottle and a glass. Once it was brought over, Dean pours himself a glass and nudges the bottle Alec's way. No words, just actions.

He took the offered bottle and poured some more with a slight nod. He liked Dean for so many reasons and this was definitely one of them.
For a long while he just drank beside Dean in comfortable silence of understanding. And then finally he broke the silence. "You planning on trying to keep pace with me, old man?" Just a hint of a smile in his eyes.

Or have one hell of a headache tomorrow morning, but it would be worth it.

"Alright." Alec did not think Dean could actually do that, but he would certainly let the man try. It brought a smirk to his lips. "But if you hate life tomorrow, I do want to point out, you've only got yourself to blame."

"Isn't that half the fun of someone with a hangover?" Alec sure thought it was. "What if I bang pots and pans?"

Alec & Emma
"Ginger-beef and scallion pancakes. My cousin's recipe. Or as close as I could get from memory."
Re: Alec & Emma
He looked over and actually smiled because he liked Emma's company and definitely her food. Plus she was kind of funny.
"I have no idea all those words could be put into a pancake, but I'll try just about any concoction of yours that comes out of the kitchen." He paused, then decided to add. "That at least looks like food." Just in case she took that as some sort of challenge.
Re: Alec & Emma
She picked up one of the scallion pancakes, added a few strips of julienned cucumber, and then some of the ginger beef before folding it closed and taking a bite. "Besides, I'm not going to kick a friend when he's down. Well... unless that's the only way to get him to talk - but that's really more Dani's style than mine."
Re: Alec & Emma
"Maybe we all just watch too much TV." He grinned back to her as he took one of the pancakes and ate it like a cookie with his hand. He chewed, but spoke before fully swallowing, "This is actually really good."
Re: Alec & Emma
Since he hadn't actually poured her a drink the way she'd suggested, she reached for the bottle to do it herself. "Back home, Illyana and Piotr's brother made vodka. I could've used it for paint thinner – actually, I did at least once, when I didn't feel like going into the village or waiting on an Amazon delivery – but it was very popular, especially with the high metabolism types."
Re: Alec & Emma
That caught his particular interest. "You're saying the cloud of sunshine in the library or metal man knows how to make liquor that might actually stick?"
It wasn't like he always needed to get drunk, but damned if he didn't want the option.
"Back home most alcohol was watered down."
