[Backdated 8/25 - mini-GP open to team demilich or by request] is anyone dead?

Coming back to consciousness hurt, significantly more than Loki remembered hurting in recent memory. There didn't seem to be a single part of his body that wasn't in some kind of pain, and on top of that he became aware, very quickly, of an odd whistling emptiness that said too much magic. He couldn't even have called one of his knives.

All of that being the case, he didn't move. If the fight was still going on, he intended to stay down. For a little while. Until he had something to act with or on. Or until he legitimately passed out again; that seemed horribly likely, with the way his head was swimming and the warm-wet of blood flowing out instead of staying in.

The desert was essentially silent, though, for the definition of 'silence' that included the sounds of wind and ordinary movement. Footsteps. Voices.

He wasn't dead, then. Was anyone else?

"Pretty much," Thor says. He almost can't believe the two of them are reminiscing about Earth after fighting some insane undead creature from who-knows-where who was sent to attack the inn for who-knows-what-purpose when nothing like this has happened up until now. But Thor prefer this conversation to any they could be having about their would-be conquerers; Thor has had more than enough of megalomaniacs bent on destruction for a lifetime. Especially when thinking of that meant he was also thinking of the fight and when he was thinking about the fight, he was thinking about the people who were hurt during it, and Thor didn't feel particularly inclined to think much ab out that, either.

"I think it's also easier to appreciate a place when you don't live there," he says. "When I was in New York..." As he often was when he was on Earth. "...I was always looking at everything. A friend of mine was always saying stop gawking, you look like a tourist, but it was hard not to marvel at it." That much was true. "I got better at not gawking at it," he confesses, "but I never stopped appreciating it. It's still one of my favorite places in the universe."

"See? That, takes a bit to get my head wrapped around." Clarice said with a chuckle and pushed herself a bit up on the sofa. "One of your favorite places in the universe. I get I'm saying that in a pocket dimension after fighting a floating skull, but still it's pretty cool and mindblowing that I'm saying it to someone that's traveled to a lot of planets."

"You never know," Thor says. "Maybe someday you'll return and travel to other planets on your own."

His lips quirk up into a slight smile. "I'd take you if we were from the same reality," he says. If things weren't as they were after Thanos. "Some might frown upon me calling upon the Bifrost for things they'd consider frivolous, but what's the point of having powers if you can't ever use them for making people happy?"

"Some can kiss our asses. You're right, what's the point of having powers if you can't use them how you want to." Clarice agreed, "plus I am so taking you up on that if I find out we're from the same reality."

Thor directs a lazy finger at Clarice. He is starting to feel a little tired.

"Do you use your portals for fun?" he asks.

"Only recently." Clarice admitted to him. "But I'm learning to loosen up more and use them for something other than escaping." She paused a beat and added, "and playing ping pong with a skull."

"That was fun," Thor says. "Until people started getting hurt, anyway. You ever want to play ping-pong again, let me know. I was always losing to Darcy. Always striking the ball a little harder than I should."

"We can make it interesting by playing the balls through portals." Clarice teased him, then said, "but you're on. When we're both up to playing again, I'll take you up on that game."

Thor pushes himself up to his feet. "I should check in on Stark and Loki," he says. "You think you will be all right here alone?"

"Yeah, I'll be good. I've had a nap and a massage. I can make it another five hours." Clarice smiled slightly, "just don't be surprised if you come through here and I'm napping."

"I'll try not to disturb you, then."

Thor gives her a smile, then heads in the direction of the makeshift infirmary.
