[Backdated 8/25 - mini-GP open to team demilich or by request] is anyone dead?

Coming back to consciousness hurt, significantly more than Loki remembered hurting in recent memory. There didn't seem to be a single part of his body that wasn't in some kind of pain, and on top of that he became aware, very quickly, of an odd whistling emptiness that said too much magic. He couldn't even have called one of his knives.

All of that being the case, he didn't move. If the fight was still going on, he intended to stay down. For a little while. Until he had something to act with or on. Or until he legitimately passed out again; that seemed horribly likely, with the way his head was swimming and the warm-wet of blood flowing out instead of staying in.

The desert was essentially silent, though, for the definition of 'silence' that included the sounds of wind and ordinary movement. Footsteps. Voices.

He wasn't dead, then. Was anyone else?

Clarice and Loki

[personal profile] st_rongernow 2018-09-02 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Clarice took longer than normal to make her way over to Loki but he looked about how she felt. "I'm a crap doctor except in field medicine but I can help if you need it. Or take notes on what you want for your wake. I'm going with free flowing alcohol and party for mine." There was tired humor in her voice.

"Good point and since there's not a lot of memories to talk about, so any wake at the inn will be pretty much an excuse to party." Clarice took the opportunity to sit, though it might have looked less like sitting and more like plopping.

Clarice - Open

[personal profile] st_rongernow 2018-09-02 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Clarice was tired. That was the understatement of the century. After checking on a few of her fellow fighters, she managed to make it to a nearby tree and just slumped against its sturdy back to rest. She just needed to catch her breath or sleep for a week, either would work.

After resting and a little (okay a lot) of help getting to the Inn, Clarice crashed on the couch in the lobby. She was just going to rest. God she felt like she was eighty and needed to rest after walking a bit. Maybe she'd invest in a wheeled walker and make her way around the inn. That was just a smart ass thought but one that sadly was a bit appealing at the moment.

Clarice looks tired.

Thor makes note of that when he sits down in a chair across from her couch. He plans on waiting around until she wakes up, but he realizes once he's settled that she is actually awake.

Thor leans forward, arms folded over his knees and smiles despite it all.

"How are you holding up?"

"Just peachy." Her lips curved upward but she didn't move from her spot. Clarice's head turned so that she could see Thor though. "Looks like you had fun."

She did, too but she was too tired to share the smile.

Tony collapsed in a chair adjacent to the sofa Clarice sat in. After some emergency treatment courtesy of Loki and a little more stabilization help (arm in a sling, torso in a wrap) he was certain he needed more but while as long as he was lucky to be conscious, he was going to spend the ATP on checking in with the folks who had his back.

"Let me get you a drink. If you're dry I'll get you something else." He paused--cutting to the chase took it out of him. "Tony, by the way. Tony Stark. I really admired the way you, ah, repeatedly opened wormholes to teach Bonejangles a lesson."

"I haven't been dry since I was probably fourteen." Clarice smirked, "and I'm a cheap date. I like any alcohol, buyer's choice." She shifted slightly to get more comfortable before she continued. "I'm Clarice, and thanks. Your kick ass suit, kicked ass, and saved mine more than a few times. You design it yourself?"

Clarice's laid back energy in the aftermath put Tony at ease, and he leaned back into the chair.

"Clarice. Beautiful--with an appreciation for economics, no less." He winked, and hoped it wasn't too pained. "Drafted, funded, designed, and built all by yours truly. This is the fiftieth iteration, but clearly that are some hinks to work out. Got lovingly abducted by the hotel before I could do much testing back at my lab."

He nodded at her. "Enough about me. Holding up on your end?"

[personal profile] st_illavirgin 2018-09-03 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Butters was going to kill him.

He specifically said that one day he wouldn't heal up if he kept reinjuring himself, but Carlos couldn't help himself. At least this time there was somewhat less broken bones at least, though tell that to his poor, aching back that took the brunt of the damage from the flying shit.

It took him a lot of help to get him to the Inn, and a lot of healing on the way. Without the Wardens and their access to healing, he'd been worried, but thankfully the Inn was chock full of healers who were willing to help. It would take him a while, but he would get back to full strength. In the meantime, he was slumped in the lobby, three pizzas in front of him (all for him, he needed to rebuild his strength), idly watching the world go by until he got the strength to go up to his room and recover.

"How are you holding up?"

Thor asks the question as soon as he catches sight of Carlos, then changes destinations; he was clearly headed up to his room until he saw Carlos slumped in the lobby. Without asking, he sits down in a chair across from him and tries his best to look less interested in the pizza than he actually is.

Carlos grabbed a slice of pizza, then heroically after only a moment's hesitation - he had a lot of energy to make back up, after all - offered Thor some. "Oh, I'm better than I expected," he admitted. "Healers were close by at least. What about you? That was some fancy work."

Thor doesn't hesitate to take a slice. Pizza: it's one of his favorite things to eat.

"Your barriers were fancy as well," he says between bites of pizza. "You protected my friends and my brother. My appreciation can not be understated."

"That magic consume calories?" Tony imagined so. He wasn't one to just sit for so long, but he had no will to do much else. "Law of--of thermodynamics...something."

Tony took a seat in the closest chair, facing Carlos and the pizza. He stared at it. The smell was appealing but the thought of digesting was painful. His ribs were bandaged and his arm was bound, so just reaching for a piece sounded like enough work for a lifetime. Also, he had more tact than to just grab someone else's food.

"Who knew? Wizards had to follows the basic laws of theromodymanics!" Carlos said with a grin, sitting up properly. "Energy can't be created. It has to come from somewhere. Hence the need for masses of junk food. Do you want some?"

He looked at Tony. "Your suit didn't suddenly go weird, did it?" It was a worry, given Tony did do a lot of damage to that skull.

'Magic, Entropy, and You' was the title of his next physics thesis just begging to be written.

Tony shook his head. "I've sworn off dairy." Not that he hadn't broken that rule near-daily since his arrival. "Alas, Yorick brushed the soft spot. Nothing a few days in the shop can't buff out."

Talking was an endeavor, but Tony Stark never let that stop him. "What about you? How's Pizza Therapy treating you? If Domino's does delivery around these parts, I'll order ahead for the next fight."

Thankfully, Buffy had Slayer healing and she would have loaned it out, if it were possible. She'd rested for a couple of hours and after a nice long hot shower, she headed down toward the cafe to grab something to eat.

As she stepped out of the elevator, Buffy saw Carlos surrounded by pizza. She grinned slightly and made her way over, "wow and I thought my friend Xander liked pizza."

Carlos and Loki

Carlos had woke up in absolute agony, but seemingly alive, and they had won the fight. Go figure. He'd not had much hope when his barrier went boom, but he'd take everything as a bonus.

After a moment or two to get his bearings, he dragged himself up using his staff as a crutch, trying to see if his comrades-in-arms had also survived. Seeing Loki, he struggled over there, letting himself drop to the ground beside him with a small whimper of pain. He was manly enough to own the fact everything fucking hurt.
