[GP] SNOW DAY

Thor and Loki got an early start, because there was a lot to do. Almost two weeks to the day since their first small-but-successful experiment with snow, Loki was confident that he'd improved enough for a bigger experiment. Still snow, because Thor wanted it and it did seem like a decent way to try something big-ish without causing Loki unnecessary grief with the other residents. (It was an arrival day, so there would perhaps be some grief with any new arrivals, but that was entirely acceptable.)

It was before dawn when they went out into the grounds. Thor called up clouds and loaded them with water so they hung low and heavy, covering the sky so that the sun, when it rose, wouldn't ruin the event. Loki took his frost giant shape and staff (now very familiar to his hand) and concentrated on dropping the temperature. Just around the Inn and grounds, but that was enough to be serious effort.

When the snow first started, the flakes were big and wet, and melted as soon as they hit the ground, which was still on the warm side. As they melted, they cooled the ground. After an hour or so, the flakes were smaller and more powdery - real snow, not glorified slush - and they were starting to stick to the ground.

By mid-morning, the Inn and grounds were covered with a thick layer of snow, and it continued to fall.

Meanwhile, indoors and inspired by the snow, Hurley and Xavin decided to try and make cookies. Cooking together was fun, since neither of them exactly knew what they were doing apart from 'follow the recipe', but since the point was 'try to make cookies' they ended up with a lot of cookies. Sugar cookies, gingerbread, all kinds.

There was no way they'd be able to eat all of them.

Instead, they loaded them onto trays and hauled them to the cafe, then brought out various frostings and candies for decorating. This had been completely intentional. Completely.

Liz paused again, her eyes dropping to Loki's hand. Tentatively she reached out and almost immediately pulled back once the tip of her finger touched him. "You feel like dry ice." The tip of her finger stung a little. She knew it would be fine, but it was still a surprise.

She didn't exactly know what a Frost Giant was, but the name was a bit descriptive. Wasn't Loki Asgardian? She decided she'd have to ask Peter at some point.

"So then.. you normally look like this." It was a half question, half statement and she was already making connections that if that was true, it meant Loki was hiding a lot of the time. It raised more questions, but she knew most of them he probably wouldn't want to answer.

She tilted her head to the side just a little, but didn't say the thought that went through her mind. Instead, she smiled softly. "Thank you for doing this for Thor."

Liz wasn't sure she entirely bought that, but she nodded anyways. "Well, it's nice. This is only the like, fourth time I've experienced snow. The second time here in at the Inn."

"Does that mean he'll be creating thunder storms in the spring, too?" Not that Liz minded - she enjoyed a good thunder storm.

"Are you?" her eyes moved to him. Part of her was trying to figure out a way to bring him water or something. There had to be a container good enough to hold dry ice safely. if she could find that, maybe she could give him water that way. Unless, of course, his temperature on the inside was the same as the out.

There were a few things Liz would say about that, all around the idea that Loki seemed to care more for Thor than he liked to let on, but she didn't share that. Instead, she just smiled. "Well... do you want something? I can find a way to get you something to drink. It's only fair since you're working so hard."

"Okay... if you're sure." Though Liz still looked a little concerned. "Don't like Thor push you too much or anything, even if the snow is pretty to look at."
