[GP] SNOW DAY
Thor and Loki got an early start, because there was a lot to do. Almost two weeks to the day since their first small-but-successful experiment with snow, Loki was confident that he'd improved enough for a bigger experiment. Still snow, because Thor wanted it and it did seem like a decent way to try something big-ish without causing Loki unnecessary grief with the other residents. (It was an arrival day, so there would perhaps be some grief with any new arrivals, but that was entirely acceptable.)
It was before dawn when they went out into the grounds. Thor called up clouds and loaded them with water so they hung low and heavy, covering the sky so that the sun, when it rose, wouldn't ruin the event. Loki took his frost giant shape and staff (now very familiar to his hand) and concentrated on dropping the temperature. Just around the Inn and grounds, but that was enough to be serious effort.
When the snow first started, the flakes were big and wet, and melted as soon as they hit the ground, which was still on the warm side. As they melted, they cooled the ground. After an hour or so, the flakes were smaller and more powdery - real snow, not glorified slush - and they were starting to stick to the ground.
By mid-morning, the Inn and grounds were covered with a thick layer of snow, and it continued to fall.
***
Meanwhile, indoors and inspired by the snow, Hurley and Xavin decided to try and make cookies. Cooking together was fun, since neither of them exactly knew what they were doing apart from 'follow the recipe', but since the point was 'try to make cookies' they ended up with a lot of cookies. Sugar cookies, gingerbread, all kinds.
There was no way they'd be able to eat all of them.
Instead, they loaded them onto trays and hauled them to the cafe, then brought out various frostings and candies for decorating. This had been completely intentional. Completely.

Peter - OTA
It's not that he doesn't like snow. In fact, he loves it, even though Queens is dumped with its fair share of snow every winter and he should probably be tired of it. He just really wants to make cookies for people.
He spent five minutes carefully cutting different shapes from the dough. So far there's a heart for Liz and a hammer for Thor. Now, he's frowning down at the dough laid out in front of him, wondering how he's ever going to come up with something for the rest of his friends. Those two were easy enough shapes to carve. A spider, on the other hand?
Probably was going to be hard and probably wouldn't come out looking like a spider anyway. And he wasn't sure how to do Cap's shield or Tony's arc reactor, either. Should he just carve out circles, then lightly cut the details into the dough? Would that even work?
Peter regrets not watching more cooking shows.
Peter and Ned
"Peter! I finally did it." He joined his friend at the counter, currently oblivious to what his best friend was doing.
Re: Peter and Ned
"Did what?"
Re: Peter and Ned
"I finally talked to her! Her name is Moana. I saw her leave really early in the morning sometimes and she comes home with stuff from the ocean, but never really talked to her, you know? But I did today! I even came to get rescue." Ned was surprised he was able to get out so much without stuttering
Re: Peter and Ned
"That's great, Ned. What'd you do?" To rescue her.
Re: Peter and Ned
"She never saw the snow before so she was really cold and almost stuck? I gave her my hoodie and helped her inside." He was currently sans his normal hoodie right now. "She's even prettier close up."
Re: Peter and Ned
Re: Peter and Ned
"W-what?" Ned's eyes went wide like a deer and then he laughed nervously. "No. What? I mean. Maybe... no. no definitely not.... what?"
Re: Peter and Ned
Re: Peter and Ned
"I mean... yeah. But she's like, so way out of my league." Ned did not think a girl like Moana would even be remotely interested.
Re: Peter and Ned
Re: Peter and Ned
"No, she is -" Ned was never really one to sugar coat where they stood on the social order in life. "But you're also Spider-Man so like, girls kind of gravitate towards you? Or maybe you're just like, a Liz-attracter, you know? Either way, you've got stuff I definitely don't have."
Re: Peter and Ned
Re: Peter and Ned
Ned could agree with some of the descriptors, but he wasn't so cute about 'cute' though maybe cute like a teddy bear and he wasn't sure girls were necessarily into that sort of thing. They seemed way more into the abs and strong dudes.
"You'd date me because you're a nerd too. I don't think Moana is. She's like... I don't know. Like the girls at school who do all the way more serious stuff than Decathlon like debate club or Toastmasters and want to be a lawyer or something."
Re: Peter and Ned
Peter looks back down at the dough, trying to figure out what he's going to do. This time, he attempts a circle. He's going to try carving in the arc reactor details as lightly as he can. The worst that can happen is he screws up and just has a regular circular cookie on his hands.

Re: Peter - OTA
Either way, it was nice watching him do stuff for his friends.
"I used to do this with Steve. Back in Brooklyn." His voice was soft, quiet. "The kitchen wasn't as nice as this one."
Re: Peter - OTA
Peter glances at Bucky's arm and starts cutting some dough into the shape of a star.
"Cap was 100 years old in 2017, right? Are you 100 too?"
Re: Peter - OTA
"Yeah, we're both 100," he murmured. In truth, he was actually a year older than Steve, but it didn't matter much anymore. They were both fossils now.
Bucky sighed. "God, I miss New York. Didn't think that I would, but I do. The deli meat. The fresh fruit markets." Bucky looked up at Peter. "No place is as good as New York. What made you want to bake?"
Re: Peter - OTA
"May and I used to make cookies every Christmas," he says. "She's not here right now, but I want to keep the tradition going." His lips quirk up into a smile. "Two years running now."
Re: Peter - OTA
Bucky wasn't good at baking, so he didn't try to help and mess things up. "You can't really mess up a cookie, can you? The decorating is the best part."
Re: Peter - OTA
That's why he was reluctant to do a spider for Annie. He was worried about it coming out looking like a blob.
Star cut, Peter frowns down at the rest of the dough laid out in front of him and tries to think about what to make next.
"What do you think we should do for Cap?"
Re: Peter - OTA
Bucky drummed his fingers on the counter. "A heart. Steve, he's all heart. He does what he thinks he has to, what he needs to. He takes care of others first before himself. The star would work for him too, because of his shield. Star or heart."

Re: Peter - OTA
Two star-shaped cookies cut out, it was time to think of what he was going to make next. He should probably make one for Loki, right?
Peter starts cutting out a squiggly line for a snake.
