[for Kash] on the family plan

It wasn't just that Kash had saved Vex's life, although he had. It wasn't only because Zahra loved him and wasn't here. Vex liked the good brother Kashaw, and okay, maybe she had a soft spot for broody types tied to death goddesses or head-down, focused on the work, find more work, save the squishy feeling stuff for later, don't let people in because you'll only get hurt types.
Look, all of Vox Machina had issues, okay? It was kind of their thing, and what made them family.
So there was no way Vex was going to let Cashew fall through the cracks, if there was something she could do about it. She knew how lucky she was, having both her brother and her lover here. Zahra was that to him, and she hadn't shown up yet. Vex couldn't take her place, but she would still look out for Kash.
It was a little early in the day to find him drinking – probably a little early – and letting Trinket out to sniff him down would probably cause a panic among the other guests. So she went looking on her own, when there was no answer to her knocking on his door.
"Just the grump-face I've been looking for," she called out brightly from the doorway of some meeting chamber or other when she found him there. "Need any help?"
