[Tag Sunny] Not Drinking the Kool-Aid

By Valentine's Day, pretty much anyone who knew Kitty at all knew she wasn't drinking the Valentine's Day Kool-Aid. Laynia's departure had been rapidly followed by Abby and then Wyatt, which had left her heartsick and lonely. Then just yesterday Alcuin and Fenris had disappeared. Kitty found herself eyeing couples with a mix of disgust, annoyance, and fear (for them, because obviously the Inn was giving the Gamemaster a run for his money with manipulation).
By late afternoon, she'd had so much of enough of herself that working the bar (even if it meant watching the happy ones kiss and cuddle) was a welcome distraction from the noise. As a personal joke, she made up a batch of Killer Kool-Aid. Someone was bound to want to get blind drunk. More than a few people weren't drinking the Kool-Aid.

Jag reckoned Valentine's Day might be tough for somebody who was in love with an angel of love. He wasn't as wrong as Coby wanted to believe. Hard topics were discussed, and more left unsaid.
[Here | rating (pg) | status (completed) | alcohol and edibles; discussions of mental illness, curses, and bad life choices]

There was a place at the inn that Odo hadn't explored yet, the makeshift library. Looking his not-so-ordinary self, he mused through the stacks of books and picked one at random.

Baked goods ordered and on their way, Kash still felt restless about this 'Valentine's Day'. Z wouldn't have expectations. She'd probably be surprised that he'd done anything at all. But she was pregnant with his child (or children!) and he wanted to treat her like the goddess she was.
In Vassalheim, he wouldn't have known what shops to go to. He'd have wandered the markets aimlessly looking for something that appealed. Here, there were less choices but the process was the same. Except that since he didn't want Vox Machina to catch him at it, he was on the downlow.
This meant that he started in the gift shop. He had a stein of cider in his hand and did his best to look like he was just spending downtime collecting necessities for his newly arrived girlfriend.
