Peter doesn't know exactly what brings him to the bar. It's not like he can drink. He's 15 years old. But he's also tired of sitting alone in the restaurant all the time.

Okay, so maybe all the time wasn't entirely accurate.

There's times where Liz is there working, and those times are the best because he really likes seeing Liz, even if she has a job to do. And other times where whoever's cooking will come and sit with him while he eats, and he likes that too. Sometimes he manages to drag someone along for lunch, but the place wasn't exactly his high school cafeteria.

So when Peter sees that there's someone working the bar, he's immediately drawn to it. Setting his backpack down on the bar, he climbs up onto the barstool and gives Molly a smile.

"Can I have a Coke, please?" he asks. "With just a little ice."

Some time ago, Corbie had found a calendar and counted back from the spring equinox. And then ahead from the winter solstice. And settled on a date. And then she’d done it again the next day. And again the next, until she was finally satisfied that she’d correctly translated between calendar systems and definitely had the correct date. Caroline had caught her at it and pried it out of her that Corbie had been trying to figure out when her birthday was and, wheels turning behind her eyes, Caroline had left it there. And Corbie had forgotten all about it.

Which was how she could be surprised now as she was shunted into the cafe that Caroline had bullied cake out of Pike and had possibly bullied other people around the inn to come eat it.

Okay, that wasn’t fair. It was a kind gesture, since Corbie hadn’t told anybody. Hadn’t intended on telling anybody. Growing up, her birthday was only so big a deal. She and Gran hadn’t had very much money for presents or treats, though Gran had tried when Corbie was small; they were both always more concerned with having enough to get by. Birthdays were for rich kids. Or at least bourgeois kids. And then there was just the part where… well, what was the point? They were here. It made doing anything special for anybody kind of hard. If anybody cared enough.

… Okay, she was being entirely unfair, because here were two people who had cared enough and had tried for her and it was incredibly sweet.

Unexpected tears in her eyes, Corbie laughed and flitted to the café door, calling out to anybody in earshot. “Come help me eat cake!”

Fades everywhere, because Umi is super boring.

Corbie's got an appointment with Jackson and Coby after somehow convincing them to at least consider a threesome. In the end, she still can't believe she got away with this.

Curnen was broken. Kash was hurting. And an idiot-wrangler's job was never done. Kash needed a reminder; that was all.

Peter Parker adjusts the strap of his backpack over his left shoulder as he stands outside the doors of the business center. It's weird for him to be all worked up about this. It was just a history lesson. Probably something like -- like the War of the Roses, right? And if his teacher here were anything like his teacher back at Midtown, he really didn't have anything to worry about.

Peter takes a breath, then pushes the door open. There's already someone there, though from here he can only see the back of her head.

"Ms. -- Ms. Song?" Peter asks tentatively, closing the door behind him. "I didn't really know what we'd be studying, so I just kinda brought a few history books I found in the library and a notebook."

Peter tugs the notebook out of his bag and holds it up, as if to demonstrate his preparedness.
