Molly really should have been paying attention to her surroundings and not left her plate of food on the small table next to where she'd been sitting by the pool. Suddenly there was a nose in the air, snuffling as it smelled the fresh cooked meat and a moment later, there was a quick set of teeth that grabbed onto the fried chicken leg. The only indication that anything was wrong was a cry of, "DANTE, NO!"
A young boy about twelve ran after the dog and his prize. A plastic chair was upended as the dog eluded the kid with what Molly was sure was a smile. "Sorry!" He said breathlessly when he passed her as he continued to race after Dante.
"Don't worry about it." Molly laughed but was smart enough to move her plate to her lap.
"Dante!" He yelled, but still couldn't catch up with him and gave a gasp when Dante ran from the pool area and toward the lobby. The chase was on.
