Putting Lessons to Use (Closed to Stark)

st_hotflashesLiz had been neglecting her art lessons, but after a few days camping, she felt refreshed and really wanted to complete her latest project issued by Piotr. She still didn't feel confident with drawing people, but Piotr suggested she try to focus on the small details of plants first to pick up on the way leaves and petals and other components connect - that this might help her with the human form later.
She sat outside in the garden. Instead of on the bench itself, she sat leaning against it on the ground with her knees up and sketchbook open on her legs. She was trying to draw a lily. She was on her fifth attempt and was starting, maybe to like how it was coming out. She hadn't begun to tackle the stem and the leaves and the way it sat in the ground, but she knew to take her time with this stuff now. It didn't help that occasionally her mind wandered. The nice thing was, even if it did wander, the time away meant it didn't often wander to sad things. Liz looked more at peace today that she perhaps had in a while.
