Only a few days after a battle she had not been entirely prepared to fight in, Mary leaned against a currently low-on-goods bakery while she read over a journal of notes Liz had given her. This journal were recipes of Pike's intended to instruct Liz on how to bake, but now with Pike apparently gone - Mary felt the need for someone to take up the Gnome's mantel.

Some of the recipes were more complicated than others, but Mary was going to attempt each one. As she read, she reached for the ice pack on the counter and brought it up to her face. She was still nursing a wicked black eye and she had cuts and bruises over other parts of her body, but she couldn't bring it in herself to see Kash or another magic user. Despite accepting the people here weren't innately evil, she still felt wholly uncomfortable getting healed by magic.
