[GP] Shoot that poison arrow

None of the guests noticed when the spiky-haired man-child in jeans and purple t-shirt, wrists wrapped in cheap leather and metal bracelets, arrived at the Madonna Inn a few hours before midnight on February 13. That, in itself, wasn't all that surprising. Eros, otherwise known as Danny Valentine, had millennia of experience doing his job without being spotted.

What was surprising was that the dude at the front desk did see him. Tall and Nondescript waved him over and then gave him a room number 'in case you wanted to rest'. But Danny didn't.

Want to, or rest. He spent the time before the clock struck midnight polishing his love gun. Not like that. He'd find a girl to spend his nameday with. He always did. No, this little beauty was made by Hephaestus himself. It shot love darts that disappeared on contact.

At midnight, kitted out with more love darts than there were people in this pink and gold monstrosity, Danny left his room and shot the first person he saw--and didn't wait to see what would happen.

No point getting a slow start. He had a lot of work to do.

"Yeah, somethin' like that. It's definitely all over the place." And it wasn't hitting everybody at once. Like, if you got hit, odds were you weren't going to latch onto someone else who had been. At least not then. Nothin' to say they weren't getting hit later. "Doesn't last long, though. An' if you get hit once you're not immune later." Which Dean knew because of reasons. Ahem. "Figurin' out how it's actually gettin' around'll be tough if gettin' close means you're gonna get hit."

He didn't say out loud that if a someone actually was pulling this shit specifically and was smart, they'd specifically target people trying to figure it out to knock them off base or out entirely.

"Back home there was a love spell kind of like this only it was about only one person. I know there are magical people here so I'm guessing someone decided to do a spell to find a connection and it went wonky." Buffy was proud of her reasoning as it wasn't her strong suit.

Unfortunately for Buffy right at that moment she got hit with an arrow and her smile went from accomplished to sultry in a blink of an eye. Her thoughts went from love spell to how full and sexy Dean's lips looked.

"I dunno, seems a little harmless for magic." The intent, that was. The effect here could get real evil real quick. But Dean's experience of magic was more like... making people eat razor blades or turning their insides into maggots or something.

Way grosser than making out, with a lot more corpses.

And that train of thought was why he didn't actually notice Buffy's shift in body language.

Buffy moved closer, definitely invading Dean's space, as she licked her lips Her gaze flicking between his lips and his eyes. "A love spell isn't harmless. What if the person that you desire doesn't want you? There's a thin line between love and pissed off stalker."

There was a brief thought of Angel and Angelus but it was brief. Buffy was more interested in Dean and taking what she wanted. Maybe Faith had it right with Want, Take, Have. She gave in to that and leaned in for a kiss.

Dean would have had to be even more dead than he'd been before getting to the Inn to turn down a hot blonde trying to kiss him. And Buffy being some kind of hunter pretty much just plussed that. And yeah, she'd almost certainly been hit by the thing, but still... hot blonde hunter chick. Of course he leaned in to kiss her in turn.

Buffy made a satisfied sound in the back of her throat and wrapped her arms around Dean's neck, pressing her body closer. His lips tasted as good as she thought they would and she continued to sample them. In the back of her mind she knew that there was something else that she should be doing, something important, but Buffy couldn't quite make herself care. She was happy to continue doing what she was doing.
