It's Pronounced "Tiefling" - OTA
Zahra needed to get a lay of the land now that she had arrived and things seemed to have calmed down a little. She was sure leaving the room would worry Kash, but she had only ventured out a few times briefly and now it felt right. She had filled him in on everything that she knew happened back home, spent many days enjoying the marvel of hot baths on demand, and discovered what a 'TV' was and tried to get some idea of what this plane was like. Now it was time to experience it for herself.
Zahra did not hide what she was. The red-skinned Tiefling wore a grey dress with a hole cut and sewn to allow her tail freedom of movement behind her. She decided to leave her staff behind, but she had done so after a lot of thought. The humans here didn't need to see her walking around with a weapon, but she felt naked and vulnerable. Kash said they were safe and so she would lean on those words as she navigated the inn weaponless.
She found the pool, crouching down by the water and feeling the cool water against her fingers. She could smell something from the water that told her the water wasn't entirely pure. It took her some time to figure out it was a place to bathe or swim, like a lake in the middle of the forest. She did take note of the heated part of the pool.
Her next step was through the lobby to the bar. Taverns looked similar no matter what plane of existence you were on, it seemed. She felt her stomach growl and after a moment found her way to the restaurant. She ordered the chicken because it reminded her of Scanlan.
After her meal she found her way to the library. There were not as many books as there was in Whitestone or even the Slayer's Take, but there were many. She started to peruse.
Her last stop was to Vex's room. She knocked and waited patiently.
(ooc: Find her anywhere. She has white eyes with no pupil or iris and horns on her head.)

"You think people will notice?" Her expression seemed sincere for a brief moment, then Zahra smiled suddenly. "I suppose if anyone has an issue with it, they will just have to get over it."
Zahra tilted her head, considering something for a moment. "Lillith mentioned that you can perform magic." The term she used escaped her mind at the moment. "Do you come by it naturally?"
no subject
"Yes, and yes, although I couldn't do any magic until I was initiated. Neither of my parents have any talent, so... things got complicated." Orlu and Chichi and Sasha, born to magical parents, had been doing acts of magic since before they could talk. At least if Chichi's claim that her mother hadn't seen her face for the first week of her life could be believed.

"Parents tend to make a lot of things complicated." Her father had been a sorcerer and been very upset when she hadn't naturally been drawn to magic. "I came by mine when I was older. Gifted it, if you will. Before then I had always wished I was born with the power." If only to stop her father's wrath.

"I hadn't known magic existed until I was twelve," Sunny explained with a shrug. "And even then, I was convinced either I or the rest of the world had gone mad at first." Before then it had only been the smallest things, improbable, but explainable. Like creeping up almost invisibly on her father, and fighting the fever that nearly took her as a baby.

"Magic can be quite frightening at times." She knew this first hand too, but she didn't like to dwell on that. She turned her fear into power. "Do you practice here?"
no subject
Sunny just barely restrained herself from a wryly amused snort. "Oh, yeah. Keeps me busy. I'm not used to having so much time to fill."

"I've noticed that life here seems rather slow. Back home there was always something to go out and hunt, when the world wasn't being threatened in general." Zahra wondered just want most people did, in fact. She couldn't imagine Vax being content stationary.

That caught her attention and her head tilted just the slightest. "You have fairies in your world?"
no subject
And oh yeah the part where Phouka had taken her virginity, that in no way influenced her thinking.

"My world has fairies, too, but they spend most of their time in another plane we call the Feywild. Usually very tricky, fairies. I imagine they must be the same in most worlds." She wondered if Teiflings were the same, too. She wondered how many worlds had her kind. "Do you have other races as well?"

"A shame. There are probably some very interesting people humans will never get to meet because of that." Why people felt the need to deny magic was beyond her. "Though I do admit some races are better left on their planes. And most dragons can just go die in a hole, really."

That caught her attention and Zahra raised an eyebrow. "You've met a dragon?"
no subject
"I got a job offer from one," Sunny admitted, shrugging one shoulder. "She hoarded stories, so she ran a publishing company."
no subject
Zahra paused a little at that. "Stories? Now that's a first." Not that she had any idea what a publishing company was. "I suppose stories are harmless than other alternatives."

"Belinda is a terrible name for a dragon." Zahra didn't mean to say her thought out loud, but she couldn't quite help it. It almost sounded like she was some bimbo rather than a dragon. "Sorry. I'm sure she's quite nice. She should consider changing her name however."

"She wasn't what I expected. That happened a lot in London," she mused. Sunny hadn't really thought about it before. "For the most part, the non-humans who made their homes there just wanted to live their lives. And then you'd get the occasional serious predator who'd screw it up for everybody."
no subject
She supposed that was true with life in general, but she understood that sentiment. "There are a lot of my kind who spend time in different planes that enjoy the freedom to not live by the rules of where most of the people live. They have given my race a bad name." Although, she supposed it wasn't entirely inaccurate. The majority of her kind were terrible by nature as they had infernal blood in them.

That pulled a smile from her. "I can see why Lillith likes you." It was much like how Percy was the first to admit Humans could be just as bad as other races, though he often also belittled himself more than Zahra thought necessary. "And I'm glad you're not one of the ones you describe."
